Friend blows through tank to prime hit vs taking primer puffs before drag? Is this normal? Help!

To get a fuller drag, I have always held down the button on my battery for a second and took a primer puff to warm up the coil before taking an inhale.

I have a friend who fires his, then puts his mouth on the drip tip and blows into the tank, shooting vapor through the air holes, then takes his inhales.

I was wondering if this is normal for people to do, or if it blows juice out of the wicks??? I always thought that since you're inhaling, you're drawing juice into the wicks, and blowing into it while firing would push some of the juice back into the tank, or possibly cause a small leak somehow?

Also, I figured out what was giving my Protank 3 dual coil such a bad flavor... I think the juice may be thick, and I'm taking too big of drags too often without letting the juice absorb into the wicks. Is this normal to encounter? Do I just need to suck in on the drip tip occasionally between drags?

This friend has told me that blowing through the tank to prime the hit will also push juice INTO the wicks.

Just tried it... makes a cool sound and 5 little jets of vapor come out the airholes of my emow. I don't see any advantages to doing this however... Still tastes and acts exactly the same as doing it normally. And I'd rather not chance blowing juice into the airflow control valve, then i gotta clean that out and ugh... pain in the .... lol. But whatever works for you I say go for it.

Inhaling or blowing works...however...just keep in mind that when blowing, vapor will exit via the air flow channels which will cause vapor condensation to occur inside the air flow channels. After a period of time (if the air flow channels are not cleaned), you may see juice collected in the air flow channel or worse, leaking out from the airflow channel.

PT3 may have difficulty absorbing thick liquids fast enough for a chain vape. You can inhale (or blowing) gently without firing to increase pressure in the tank for the liquid to absorb faster but not sure if it will work well.

The only thing I blow into it for, is to clear a slight flooding of the atomizer; it causes excess juice in the atty chamber to exit via my kayfun's airhole, so it stops that awful gurgling business. It's usually only necessary if the mod's been sitting all night, or if i get carried away priming the wick when I re-wick. The all-night or long-time sitting is a bigger problem with rayon than cotton, just because rayon sucks up juice like mad, and if it's been sitting without being vaped for a while, that can be a problem with a rayon-wicked atty; often get gurgling or spitting first thing in the morning.

I think it's perfectly fine to do this on an RDA, however if you're using a tank, there's a real possibility the juice blowing by the coil seal into the atomizer head, making a bit of a mess, maybe causing pops crackles and gurgles. So really depends on the equipment imo.

Or worse. Some tanks draw air through the bottom (iClear for instance) and some mods do not have sealed 510 connectors, which means you could blow liquid in to the top of your battery.

In general terms the coil does not care which direction the air is flowing, just that it is flowing sufficiently.

The coil doesn't, but the rest of the topper might. As was stated before, blowing through it can lead to condensation and the buildup of residue in the air channels, fouling the coil connection with the terminal with liquid, or even liquid on the battery.

From personal experience liquid getting on the bottom of a Kanger coil is a mess and interferes with the way the tank works. Blowing through the coil greatly increases the risk of the bottom of the coil becoming saturated with liquid which can cause the coil to misfire or not work well because part of the electrical charge is being conducted by the liquid to the base rather than passing through the coil. These parts should ALWAYS be dry and free from any moisture or liquid. Blowing through them should never be recommended.
