Ok, first off I started with prefilled cartos from SI. I absolutely loved the first two flavors I vaped. (Guess I just got lucky with that!) 555 and Ice Menthol. I kept reading on here how much cleaner and better the flavors were with clearo's so I decided to get a couple, along with some 555 juice and try it out. Boy was I disappointed! I kept thinking.. cleaner? Really? After about a week and going through only 1ml in a clearomizer, all I can say is it tastes a little like my fav 555 and mostly like, what I can only describe as, new plastic. I guess maybe I should have cleaned it out before I used it, but never did I read or see that advice anywhere. I didn't want to waste the liquid I put in there originally, so I finally got through it all, cleaned it out, and refilled. I can say now that it is a little better but still tasting (and smelling) a bit of plastic. I keep going back to the carto with 555 in it. It just tastes better to me. Anyone else experience this? Does anyone clean their new clearo's before they use them?

I know some places sell the clearos with the wicks already saturated with 100% VG, so when adding fluid to these, I usually let it sit for about half an hour. You can cut down on that time by going ahead and fully cleaning it all, dry burn to get it all out, then fill again and let it sit about maybe 5-10 minutes. I've bought both wicks with VG on them already and bone-dry wicks, and have not experiences a bad plastic taste on it.

I know that there are individuals who are especially sensitive to being able to taste the plastic in plastic clearomizers and cartotanks that use plastic in their tube material.

And what telijah said about some clearos having a small amount of primer liquid in them when shipped to keep the wicks wet is true, too. It may be a good practice to remove the top, rinse it out, and allow to dry before adding juice to them.
