I never liked vaping as much as smoking until I started DIY mixing my own e-juice. The "perfect" vape for me is simply 70PG/30VG-18 with some "Sweet Cherry" flavouring; doesn't seem to matter what wattage I use 7 - 13.5, I start with almost totally clear e-juice and by the time I vape 1/3 of a tank what is left looks like engine oil from a car that hasn't had an oil change in 50,000 miles. I've tried multiple atomizers and mods and it's clear to me that the problem is the favouring is breaking down from the coil heat (green apple flavouring doesn't do this). The simple solution is to use a mod with a DNA 40 that gives me coil temperature control but just try and get one :) Anyone that had one is sold out. I'd also like to get a Stattqualm Squape R so I can be done with buying coils (100 feet of NI200 is the same price as a 5 pack of coils and cotton sure isn't expensive).

I guess it will be a couple of months before I can get what I need to fix this unless I turn to the clone market, anyone have any suggestions in the interim? I have a couple of Aspire Nautilus tanks and they often leak (and I've read and followed all the advice about over tightening, etc.) so the Swiss watch precision of a real Squape seems the logical way to fix the problem with leaks? but again, just try and get one :) I'm frustrated because I know what the problem is and what I need to fix it and that it's out there but production of quality items (like a Evolv DNA 40 in a Vapor Flask and a Squape) is so slow compared to the Chinese that can turn out any quantity of inferior junk.

I know a Vapor Flask V2/3 with DNA 40 and a Squape R are expensive, high end items but the way I look at it I used to spend that much in one month on analog cigarettes :)

Yes, I was $180 of cigs (30 packs) per month. I accepted that I would spend that on vaping in the first month or so. I think some are looking to save more money.

I made it a hobby so that I would appreciate all the different things I could do and I am glad that I spend the money. Since I started, I never had an urge to be lazy and just open a pack, stick one in my mouth and light it. Vaping is fun.

The darker the coloring is to begin with, the darker it's going to get as you vape it.
If it's just the color thats bothering you and not the actual taste, try to find flavoring without coloring.

It actually starts out almost completely clear and ends up as a black tar (Aspire Nautilus with BVC @ 13.5 watts), even a Vivi Nova with a BDC at 7 watts does the same thing, and yes the taste degrades as well. I'm sure if I limit the coil temperature the problem will go away, it's just too hard to get a DNA-40 just yet :)
