I've been vaping since August with some luck here and there. I've used the same brand, but tried different products they have. I've been thru lots of bad batts (but the company did replace), now I can't get attys to last no time. I upgraded to this huge batt they came out with and tried the tanks. The tanks only lasted a few days.

I'm beyond frustrated. I never, ever, ever get the huge vapor clouds and no throat hit at all.

Can you recommend a good, solid, DEPENDABLE set-up? I haven't tried cartos yet bc they're always out of stock. Do you think that would help?

Right now I have one of the huge batts and two of ones a size smaller that has the pass-thru. I need something awesome to work with those.

I've read on here good things about the 510s. Can you use 510 cartos on different batts, like I don't know, say an Inferno?

Thanks!

I don't know what you had previously but i would reccomend an ego with some lr atties and cartos. Not sure why everyone keeps saying they are hard to find. I have not had trouble. You could try a tank or tank mod for more vapor and a higher vg ratio. I wouldn't use more than 30 % in a carto or it will get gunked up. Cartos tend to produce less vapor than atties or tanks. Hope this helps and good luck!

It might be the way you are using the products, I do t understand what you keen when you say the tanks only lasted a few days, do you keen the atomizer part or the cartridge part of the tank system.
If you have been having problems with every atomizer you have dying, you might be vaping them dry, that would also account for the vapor production. Also the juice plays a big part in all of this, if you are using straight PG, you won't get big ol clouds of vapor, and if you are using straight VG, you won't get the throat hit, and it won't get to the atomizer as well, thus burning out the atomizers. Some people go 50/50 I'm running 70pg/30vg for my tank system, I've had it going on a week, and LOVE IT. you also have to blow out the atomizers, I do that at least once a day. Good luck, and you might want to let people know more about your set up. Name brands, models, juices used, stuff like that. Some peoples idea of big battery is a provari, and someone elses might be a Joye 510Mega. Let us know more, and we might be able to help you achieve your goals!

don't know which kit you own right now.. but the fact of the matter is, that no e-cig is a perfect cig and it would be juvenile for me to think it will be the last one to buy. (until regulation)
so here's what you need to consider, and keep in mind what kind of an ex-smoker or vapor-er you are.
How many times would you want to vape in a day. Add to that the time you'd want to suck on it for pacifying.
That will help you determine what kind of battery life you want. Standard 510s will last you half a day if you are a light-ish smoker. An extended battery mod of the std 510, eGo or the Riva come with higher capacity batts and my Riva lasts me for 3-4 days. Keep in mind these are just the 510s with super batts.
You also talk about TH and Vapor. These two are a function/combination of the atty and the juice.
While 510s are the most popular models, i have had several attys that produce a ton of vapor but have nothing for a TH for me. So again, depending upon the level of 'hit' you crave for, you may need to get a low resistance atty (LR Atty) and juice with higher PG than VG.
PG has more TH, while VG has more vapor. Find your sweet spot with for instance a 70/30 mix etc.
Goes without saying a higher nic will have a better TH.

If you want to learn about devices go ahead and read the 6-part introduction tutorial here.
Won't we all love to have local stores where you could try out diff products before committing to one! Google search that.
Try and order juice for a different vendor each time, till you find the one you like.

You can use 510 cartos on anything that has the 510 threads. Tornado, Inferno, eGo, Riva all have 510 threading.

Atomizers aren't meant to last forever, but the life can sometimes be extended by simple maintenance. I blow my atties out at least once a day and I soak them in 91% Isopropyl Alcohol for about 15 minutes once a week or so and let them dry overnight. Atomizers will also last longer if you keep them wet when they're in use. If you let them dry out then they're going to burn out quicker.

When you say the tanks only lasted a few days, do you mean that you were only able to vape them for a few days or that they went bad after a few days? I'm assuming that you're using an eGo-T device, correct?

You may not be getting good vapor or TH for a couple of reasons, but it sounds like you may not be inhaling correctly. Try taking long, slow, gentle drags. If you try to suck on it like it's a straw in a thick milkshake, that just won't work.

When I'm not dripping, I use cartos exclusively with 50/50 or 60PG/40VG mixes and don't have any problems with it. My cartos don't get gunked up and I'm able to refill them many times before I have to throw them out. Only the CE2 ceramic cartos give me a problem with the type of juice I use and that's just because they can't wick fast enough. Cartos with filler don't have this problem, at least for me.

There are several vendors who carry cartos; MadVapes, Liberty-Flights, VaporJunction....just to name a few.

I hesitated to say which brand I'm using bc I don't want to sound like I'm bashing the product, but for me I'm just not having much luck. I have the Inferno now, coming from the Magma. I've used the Magma attys until this past week when I got the tankomizers. The tanks worked great for about a day, then the draw got hard with little to no vapor. I did the soak in near boiling water for 15 minutes, then let dry overnight. Still the same.

I don't have a problem with the Inferno batts. I moved up to them bc the Magmas were giving me fits.

I thought I would try the cartos at Volcano, but they've been out for quite a while. That's why I wondered if another type would fit my batt.

I use either straight PG tobacco 16mg from strictlyejuice or 80/20 from Volcanoe.

I wish the tanks would have worked. It was great for the first day or so.

I also have someone older interested in vaping, but I hesitate to recommend a brand bc I don't want them to have the problems I've been having. They just need something easy.

Thanks for all the replies!

The eGo-T / Inferno-T atomizers are finicky if you don't treat them well... It's all about using the right Juice, and keeping them clean.

You should read my post about it on my blog, it tells you what to stay away from, and a few different ways to clean them to keep them running at 100% Zombie's PV Blog: So, you bought an eGo-T, What Now?

Abridged Version:
Don't use dark juices (I only use clear ones now)
Don't use more than 50% VG (I don't use more than 30%)
Clean it regularly, blow it out regularly. (Several methods)
If it gets seriously gunked up, you can dry burn it (that's in another post on my blog)

Thinkin It may be your juice troubled. I have several different juices and some like my Tank (different brand same thing) and some don't. Like the Zombie saying find some juice thats no more than %30 VG and you should be good to go. Also with drawing back less is more. The harder you draw the more air you get thats all. refreshing cool air. When it wasn't working had you had the 80/20 in it? Also is it the tanks the problem or the Atty? if your Tanks are getting clogged try shoving a paper clip or something up the holes on the sides or blowing them out after you rinse in hot water could be your tanks is getting clogged up and your attys fine. Anyway I have only had mine for a week or so, so I am throwing guesses at you.
