Uuuhhhhh ab, old son ... those are what we call 4 wheelers.

The tractor is that green thing in my avatar.

I keep forgetting your one of those Chycawgo citified folks.

But yes sir, you can drive anything you want around here. You can even drive a few head of cattle. Do you know where the brakes are on the cattle?

 Oh.... Those are even better. I'm not going to fall for the cattle offer. The only place I want to handle cattle is on my plate.

no crap, me too. we actually have cattle wander down our road and stand in our front yard. darn things are freaking huge up close!!!!
How do you stop one? can you really stop one if it does not want to be stopped???

Just open the door and let the pup and two new kitties go out there. You won't see anymore cattle coming after that.

A trained herd dog maybe, the cats...no so much. So what ya need to do is getcha a"bull" to lure them ladies to where ya want them to go. Put him in a field that is before they reach your house and make sure its 'downwind' :)

LOL! How's the recovery going?

It's okay. I hate not being able to do anything. Driving me nutz. I keep getting yelled at for getting up and doing things for myself. But, I wasn't able to even use my right leg for months and now that it is working again, I wanna use it! ;-)

stumbled across this thread while surfing posts....and not a subforum where I normally post but just wanted to comment on a couple things...

that I'd chalk up to poor communication rather than anything (not really harry's strongest suit)...though piling on and vilifying shouldn't have happened...

those that have been around longer need to sometimes be reminded that what we take as common knowlege isn't really common and a newbie may not know...

and this...

I remember when I came to ECF a year ago there were some vendors who that was the only way you could get some semblance of CS out of them... mails and PMs would go unanswered, phone calls too...and then the threads would be deleted almost as fast as they were written...so it was written again and again till you'd sufficently pestered them enough that they had to deal with you to make the issue go away....

sometimes it was because you didn't want others to fall for it too....

and then it all changed... there came the reviews forum and people realized "gee if I post there then the supplier CAN'T delete my thread"...

that's all fine and good but it spiraled out of control...those threads made their way back into the subforms...
but I see the issues have changed too a lot of those issues were big dramatic issues...now they just seem to be petty or trivial (not to belittle some issues) ...and with them came an almost snarky self ritious mean spirit to a lot of them....
and sometimes it is the customers fault just as much...

but I do want to see the bad reviews as well as the good and how the company handles the bad reviews...there are several that I won't do business with because of the way some major CS thing went down (TV,GG,V4L,GG,PS,TW)...but I agree that an attempt to rectify things with the vendor should be made first and it shouln't be an unreasonable attempt either...

just my :2C:

When a thread gets 20 pages and we all start having fun kidding around, there are posts that come in and just miss the mark. They don't even read the first post and start bashing vendors. Obviously, the poster is the only person thinking they have credibility.

Other times, you get a post like this. They took the time to read posts, understand the topic and give an honest personal view. Those who read it may or may not like what is said but, you know it wasn't posted with malicious intent.

I like this post. I just wanted to share that. :)

Yeah, we do it all the time. We rope 'em from horseback.

My wife just goes over and knocks them down, but she's bigger than me. Sometimes she just roars and they lay down real peaceful.

And ab, just so you know, this is what we call a cow ...

yeah a good thought out post. we appreciate those. Pamela and I don't pattern ourselves after any one particular vendor type. We are unique in and of ourselves. To us, we have 7 children to teach and send forth in the world. Hopefully this will help out with their college education too. But the biggest reason we do this is to teach them hard work, diligence and a care and concern for others.
Customer Service is a hard sword. Soem people just won't be pleased no matter what you do. And we do our best under difficult circumstances at times. We are human too. Treat us like crap and yeah we will smile and still try hard to rectify any problem, but treat us good like the honest hard working folk we are and we will give 110%.
Not sure why some folks just don't get this concept, But where I grew up, a small town in Hawaii, your word is all you have to others. When we give our friendship it is genuine, and not something we would retract because you say or do something we don't like.
We will always do all we can for folks. That is the best that can be expected of us :)

Hey El Dee, that's a bad looking machine!

LOL, give MistressNomad a little time out there in Tucson and I'll bet she'll be wearing boots, a straw hat, flannel shirts and probably a nice beehive hairdoo to go with it. Makes my heart go thumpity thump just to think about it!
