I'm not sure if it's malfunctioning or if I did something wrong. Here's some background of the problems that I'm having. I built a dual coil nickel ni200 build on it, it came out at .17 ohms. It wouldn't fire. Even though it says it will fire down to .15. Then it said atomizer short. So I rebuilt two more times and the same things happened, even though I rebuilt using a bigger diameter and more wraps it said the same exact ohms as before. So I took it apart again, rebuilt two more coils and now it is saying .07 ohms. Which is too low. So I figured, I've never built dual nickel coils so maybe this is the problem and then removed the one coil. But then it said 0.12 then 0.14 then 0.17 then I fired it. It was firing but making little to no vapor. So I checked that both leads to the coil, both were good, making sure not to touch anything. And then I fired it. And the cotton, that had juice on it, lots. Caught on fire. It immediately went out. But it was a decent size... I was scared and startled... to the point to make me put down the mod and Rda and remove the batteries for the night. And now I'm here. Please help!

It sounds like your resistance is off on your coils. Did you check with an ohms meter or are you just using the mod? Do you have anything else to check the resistance, another device maybe?
I am leaning toward it being your build but it could be you device also not reading the resistance correctly. Hard to tell if you don't have something else to test your coils on.
On your builds I would shoot for .2 ohms and up. Use Steam Engine or Vape Calc App to calculate your builds and then make sure everything is tightened down good before firing and see if that helps.

It's going to be darn near impossible to get to .2 using Ni200 with dual coil builds. Mine were usually around .07 ohms. If you want to use Ni200 with that mod you are going to have to go the single coil route (the resistance is cut in half when using dual coils in parallel). Make sure you space your coils when using Ni200. Also I don't have that mod but a lot of mods require you to lock in the resistance at room temperature (the coil) in TC.

Cheers,
Steve

He is already at .17 with his build not a stretch for .2 and up
.07 is pretty low unless you are stating for 1 coil, and he stated his mod won't fire resistances under .15
Or he could be using TC wire in power mode :?:

If you re-read his first post after he rebilt the dual coil setup it came out to .07. He obviously had one of the coils shorted when it was at .17. I've used Ni200 in dual coil setups quite a few times and it was always a chore to get them above .05 (The minimum my mods fire in TC). I was using 28ga. With 26ga I couldn't stuff enough in to get to .07.

Cheers,
Steve

I stand corrected and I believe his mod will fire as low as .05

If you don't have one, you need a decent resistance meter. When I hear similar probs to this w/a new device my advise has always been to use a single coil build first. Like Wingsfan said, a 'normal' 26g Ni200 single coil build will fall in the 0.07-ish range so will be safely above the cut-off of your mod. Again- use spaced coils. Is this a new atty? Be sure the coil isn't shorting to the chimney if so equipped. If you can't get that build to work, it's time to take a hard look at the mod.

Good luck!

It is one coil. And in nickel mode. At the point I'm just gonna call it retired. I'm gonna pick up a dark horse RDA and a Koopor plus. I have no clue what's wrong with it. But it reads .23 in power mode, 0.09 at nickel. What's odd is that it's not supposed to fire below .15 but it's firing. Creating little vapor, but firing.
