Any ideas how to contact Ameraclone? I'd like to send them pictures of my fuhattan mod that started peeling 3 weeks after I got it. It was lovingly cared for, and is now not fit for public viewing. I got a Tiffany Blue mod while in Baltimore. I loved it until it started peeling. First it started on the bottom piece at the edge. Then the top piece started peeling where the tank meets it. Now it's an ugly mess of a brass button, silver tone metal (steel, not sure what they are using, and honestly didn't look it up), and peeling Tiffany Blue. I for one will not waste any more money on a clone that is going to peel like that in under a month of careful use.

Anyone else experience this, or notice any peeling on their fuhattans?

I tried to upload a picture, but it tells me the file is too large.

I have an aluminum one and copper one. I didn't get a steel one though. You can host your pics at tinypic.com and post them here if you can't resize them. I would talk to the place you bought it and see what they say. Since it's a B&m it sounds like, I don't how what the would do for you though. I would just strip it and polish it. That's what I did with my ipv mini 2 when the paint pealed and scratched off.

That s.cks.. 3 weeks only? I doubt the manufacturer will all do anything at all sorry to say. Besides DOAs they generally don't give a ....
Unless you're up for some hard manual labour and polish it (no shiny result guaranteed), I'd safe myself the trouble and aggravation in following up with them and just toss itin the bin.

Buy yourself something new, shiny and desirable and forget about this little pos asap.

Hope the next one works out better for you...

A J-wrap will cost you about $15.00.
But the clone shouldn't have been more than $25.00, so it's kind of a push.
Just to confirm; the device still functions PERFECTLY, correct?

Cheers

You don't need manual labor if you've got some 400-2k sand paper, and a 3" buffing drill pad and rubbing compound. I can shave in the reflection of my mod and I didn't even break a sweat lol

Thanks guys! I will probably go the fingernail polish route. It just chaps me. I'm starting to wonder if I should just get the gear I'd need for powder coating, and get in the clone business myself (with dear old dad of course) I wonder if there would be money in it. My grandfather taught me to cast pewter, so with my dads no-how of welding, and steal, my knowledge of casting. I'm sure we could come up with some amazing designs. I just wonder if there is money in it.

If you are good at what you do, and creative, there is money to be made in nearly every industry.
That said, getting into the clone business specifically in the western world, would likely be opening yourself up to all sorts of legal issues. Better have some money stashed for legal advice and lawyers.
Furthermore, it is highly dependent on economies of scale and the availability of cheap labor to reach competitive price levels.
I think if you have the skills, you might be better off creating something original rather than copying other peoples ideas.
