Happy New Year fellow GTUS users.
It been a while since I last visited this thread as I have happily been vaping away with solid setups for quite some time.
A couple of days ago my Jazz Pipe arrived and I found Dan's GTUS is a better fit than Sturms original GTank (So that'll stay on the Sturm mod). The Ego B setup connected to the jazz pipe just looks fantastic. Ever since you posted pictures of yours Dan, mounted on a jazz pipe, I wanted one.
Anyway, I setup a sweet 1.8ohm coil and wick and it's is vaping wonderfully and looks great.

Anyway, just catching the end of this thread and see ceramic wicks mentioned? Has someone discovered an alternative to the SS mesh? Always up for trying the latest and greatest tricks.

I just got a GTUS...man I really love this device....great job Dan. I put in the plastice 3ml bottle and that solved all the condensation problems. The only little gripe I have now with the GTUS is that the positive post is so small and the positive lead ends up being pretty long. I am trying to figure out if there is a way to put some washers on the positive post/screw. It seems that there is no room for it. Any suggestions Dan or anyone?

Double up the kanthal where it comes off the positive post to reduce the resistance on the sort leg over to the wick. This will help prevent it over heating in that spot and burning your vape. Be careful you don't leave a tail sticking out to short on either end.

Yeah I took one I had and drilled out the wick hole to 1/8" and put a ceramic wick in at 1.2ohms with 32ga kanthal. Working SaaaaWeeet!

I found the easiest way to do this is to leave a long tail on the positive when you wrap it around the positive post and then just spiral it around back toward the wick and cut it off just before getting to the wick.

I haven't had my GTUS out in about 2 months. I will have to break it back out and play with it again.

I haven't been following the threads very much lately due to work involvement. "LTE training" and build outs. Where are do we procure the proper ceramic wicks? I have several SGV3's and GTUS's that are just begging for better wicks.

poland, and the brassy lands of google
This mod is dedicated to the GTUS explicitly, made from brass and walnut, and holds a 18650, a 4050 booster pod and uses a magnetic connection, although the 510 is still there. I drilled a 1.2mm hole in the brass positive post and bolted a 3/4" x 3/8" ring magnet to the bottom with the aid of a thin steel washer and a threaded ring cut from a 510 connector (my last one).

The pod is held in place by a short length of 5/8" brass tube with a slot cut out for the positive wire and is brought up to size with a Gummy Tank tube that is 3/4" OD 5/8" ID (thanks buddy, I've used more than half of it now).

To maintain the airflow for the GTUS, a 4mm hole was drilled in the side of the mod and lined with a brass tube. The walnut is finished with linseed oil and beeswax so it should be quite juice resistant in the event of weeping. I also added an o-ring to the GTUS to raise the inlet about a mil, and when standing the inlet is at the highpoint in the chamber and should be less prone to anything escaping.

It works a charm, is much more compact now, and I particularly like the mini drip tip, so much so that I wouldn't want to replace SS tank and cover with Ghost Protocol parts now as the lines would be off.
