So, I just received my first G6 battery and cartomizers, and I was really happy with the quality right out of the box (coming from v4l stuff). I love the way the cartomizers are packaged, and not one "off-center" one in two packs. They were super easy to fill, and I was getting a LOT of great vapor... for a few puffs.

I filled the cart with 20 drops, started vaping, and after a few puffs, things started getting hot and tasting burnt. What have I done wrong? The cart surely isn't empty, so I'm not sure what's up. It doesn't look singed when I open it - I can't see any brown areas or anything.

Wish I can help you but I just got my G6 over the weekend as well. Filled a blank carto with Tiki. Didn't count how many drops and stopped once I see that the fiber is not absorbing the liquid any longer. Let the carto sit for about 15mins before I took the first drag. No burnt taste whatsoever and still working pretty well on it's second day.

I always hate to ask the obvious ........ but did you wait at least 10mins before you started vaping?

Oh, that must've been the problem then. On an empty carto, the juice has to flow down and saturate the entire fiber filling. If you indeed vaped right away, the part of the fiber filling that the coil draws liquid from will still be dry at that point. I don't know much about V4L cartos to comment but of the cartos I've tried before, there's always that wait time to get it saturated.

Now on a top off or re-fill (prefilled cartos or ones you already used before), you won't need to wait because the fiber filling is already "wet" to begin with. Oh oh oh. Are the V4L prefilled when you got them or were they blanks?

Give it another try and this time give it a few minutes. It just might work.

the halo G6 cartos are horizontal coil cartos, the coil is at the very bottom, and runs horizontally.

i usually use the condom method to ensure i saturate the coil and wick, then top off by dropping on the top of the carto. i never wait to vape a freshly filled carto and have had no problems. i wouldnt chain vape a freshly filled carto, but using it right away after filling it in this fashion has never given me an issue.

Somewhere out there
I always add a few drops of e juice even to new cartos just to be sure they have not dried out. I did burn a fairly new carto, well a week old. I was so into the flavor I got carried away and did not add more juice. Well I tore the carto part to see if the fiber was burnt, it wasn't, it was the center tube at bottom that got fried, so I had to toss it. If it was the fiber fill, I was going to replace it, but not much I could do with the tube burnt. So keep then filled and less problems with burnt taste. bnrk
