If manufacturing did it, I would think a screw-on type would be better, then we can all buy specific colors we wanted, or even plain tip with only a thin ring (<1mm) to light up just enough to know when the battery blinks; one type cwould simulate maybe a whole 4 to 5 mm of ash with an orange glow? <this one I would like for when I vape with smoking coworkers.

May be a little difficult to imagine but the end looked a little like a mushroom cap. The edges of the ash cap extended beyond the edge of the battery to it was easy for the user to see,
[edit] There may be a side benefit to that design in that the device would be less likely to roll off a flat surface, and would (instead) pivot around the ash cap tip.
