Hi guys, so, long story short, I received a refund on gearbest but only in store credit I suppose you could say. I used it on a few things and had a little left over so I used it on a couple of 18650 batts. I have been looking up safety procedures and all that but I'm definitely no expert yet. Can anyone tell me if they're safe to use or should I just throw them out?

I'm no battery expert but I would not trust this battery they are defiantly rewraps of something else. To my knowledge there is no such thing as a 18650 with 5000mah. if it does not come from LG, Panasonic or Samsung I would not run it on anything but I'm a starch opponent to rewrap batteries. I would just throw them out you would be safer that way :)

Yea I'm with ya brother.,I'm just getting into the whole external battery mods fairly recently, I've only ever had isticks in the past so I'd no need for them. Ordered these as spares when I was still pretty clueless on the matter. Just wanted some knowledgable opinions before I threw them out yano! I'll stick to my LGs and get some sonys for my next mods

Yeah I hear you. If you have the time check out Pegasus Vapor Academy
Pegasus Vapor Academy on YouTube he has really great videos on batteries and battery safety and by the way I would probable stay away from Sonys because they stopped making 18650 batteries back in 2015 so most of the Sonys out now are fakes I found that out the hard way :(. Keep vaping my friend

Yea I was looking at the hg2 as well. Like I said I'm still pretty new and trying to learn as much as I can about batteries but from what I've been told lg, Sony vtc4 and Samsung 25r are the way to go yes???
Not unless you are using mechs at .1 ohm coils or so.
The HG2 is the most common battery in use in the RX series of 200 watt mods it seems.
In single battery regulated they are good to 60-75 watts and around 150w in dual battery mods.
And a great deal for under $6 each. also buy 2 and get a free battery holder/case.

Wow I didn't know that. I've had people on other sites almost demanding I get some sonys! I'm only using mods that take a single battery right now, Evic VTC mini and hoping to get the iStick Pico real soon. I'm not even considering moving on to mech mods just yet. Definitely need to know a lot more before going down that road but il get there eventually

Here is a link to Mooch's blog on here. One of the best experts on vaping batteries.

Also I have only used HG2's in my VTC mini and all of my single battery mods.
I even use them in my mechs but do not build below .3 on them.
they will work down to .2 though according to specs.
I just do not push it.

Sony's are great but they are some older tech and IMO LG's are a far better for what your needs are and they are often less money. Everyone has their favorite vendor and mine is 101 Vape. They have great prices on cells, have them in stock most of the time and no worries about any counterfeits.

12.99 for 2 HG2's

LG Brown HG2 INR18650 3000mah 18650 Battery (pair) - 101 Vape

9.99 for 2 HE2's which are also a great cell.

-PAIR-LG 18650HE2 35A 2500mAh Battery - 101 Vape
