No one should produce something with a JFC. Unnecessary and always the weak point.

I hope the Reload rta will be awesome. No JFC and smaller airflow channel so would fit better to my 6 wrap claptons. They don't work so great on the ammit since there is too much unnecessary airflow (not the amount but the airflow area on the deck)

So what's the story Shawn, is it the best thing to come along since sliced bread?
Hmmmm... the wicking is a little different... first tank full leaked pretty severely. Second tank, I wicked a bit heavier, and experienced less leaking... down to either heavy condensation or seeping, now. Other than that, I've had no issues.

The vape is outstanding. I have heard reports of people citing "turbulent" air flow. I run it wide open, and do not experience turbulence or whistling... although it is a loudish tank... more whoosh than whistle.

The resistance is stable, and I've had no issues when running in TC.

Filling is easy... pop the top and pour...

You'll likely never solve the seeping issue, either. I've literally wicked this thing every way I could think of, moved coils higher/lower to main airflow, closer/further to side airflow holes etc, you name it....still will randomly seep. I really can't solve it, either.

A majority of my seeping is from the bottom of the tank, too - if you flip it upside down, you'll see a seam where the AFC ring meets the base of the deck. That's where both of my tank's seepage originate. I saw somewhere else that, had GeekVape put an o-ring in the AFC ring, or had a tighter AFC ring, it wouldn't leak out the bottom. Kind of makes sense to me.

A friend of mine, local vape shop owner, has one a tried last week. 3.5mm, 6wrap, 26/36 SS claptons wicked with kendo. Wicktails trimmed to barely go inside channels. I saw a little weeping from the afc but nothing running down onto the mod. The flavor was tremendous (for an RTA). I almost got nic sic after 6 or 8 consecutive pulls it at 125W. It never even hinted at dry hitting.
Well, there I go talking myself into buying more gear.

Agree with everything you said. I used ALOT of cotton as I'm running on single mode and it hasn't muted the flavour experience. I'm really enjoying this tank.

So judging by how quiet this discussion is am I to make the assumption that the feelings about this tank is "eh"?

Which stinks. I was hoping this would be a great tank. I think it looks awesome but if it's a leaking pita, looks ain't nothing.

Does it have a steap learning curve? Is it a QC situation? Is it just not a good design? What needs to be better? Bottom line, should it be considered by someone who doesn't buy tanks often?

Airflow is on the very turbulent side, the chamber should be smaller for more flavor, the airflow holes are pretty big - so you need a wide coil to cover it or you will loose flavor, the juice flow control is completely unnecessary and press fit, therefore it will seep sooner or later and leave juice on your mod...

I've gone back to my OBS Engine. Put it that way.

I don't use the juice flow, I don't see why this needs it either if it's wicked correctly.

As of this very moment, I have two 4mm coils in there and less cotton than I used with 3mm and I've had no seepage. Condensation yes, but not what I've previously described. Flavour isn't as good as my Engine but it's ok. May be down to wire (flattened stainless) so will try different build when my wire finally turns up.

As of this moment, if you like the look of the tank I'd go for the VandyVape Kylin. I haven't been impressed with the Ammit tbh.

To be honest, I can't say that it's not worth it. From everything I've seen, the leaking issue that some of us have here doesn't seem to be widespread, and it appears to be us early-adopters.

I look on the comment sections from youtube reviews, and I don't see anyone really complaining about it. Same on Reddit. People just appear to be happy with it, and if they were all dumping juice, I think they'd be very vocal about it (like we have been here.)

GeekVape is aware, whatever the issue is. They're sending me out a replacement part (could be a new deck, could be a whole new tank, I have no idea). As soon as I sent in pics of the seeping, they sent a new part immediately.

To be brutally honest, mine has been seeping pretty frequently, but it's not enough to A) ruin anything or B) get me to use my older RTAs. It's just been a minor inconvenience that puzzles me because it IS wicked right. The vape I get off it is just fantastic. The flavor is almost too much, and that's just using standard, spaced build.

Only thing that's truly irksome, aside from the minor seeping, is the airflow. It's loud. And if you close it off to the smallest setting, it whistles like a flute. For $25 I'm very happy with it. But it's not perfect, and I'm hoping that GeekVape fixed it on the 2nd batches of them, and I'm super impressed that a Chinese company is actually standing by their product and replacing the ones with problems. Very uncommon, in my experience.

For $25 to $30, I'd say absolutely worth it (even with the seeping. Which I can send you a picture of the worst seep I've had, to give you an idea of what you can expect - IF they didn't already fix the newer ones.)

I appreciate your thought out and detailed response.

Does anyone know if there is a way to tell, without the manufacturer explicitly stating, that an item is in the "2nd" batch?

I don't, personally. However, GeekVape sent me another response saying something along the lines of "the leaking issue you're having isn't common, but some people are having issues. Usually it's just because of wicking technique, but your problem is due to press-fitting issues in the tank." I'm glad they're at least aware, and likely resolved it by now.
