OKC, OK
I don't have the solo, just have the old 100w aegis, the plug screws in flush with the base. Not sure yours is a problem other than an annoyance, but I would still return it. If nothing else, it probably doesn't seal correctly and the battery has to be just a bit looser inside, a little wear on the spring and it's going to be not making contact.

i also own the first 26650 aegis and the battery cap does screws flush. I am not sure if the battery is a bit loose it doesnt rattle or anything but i hate the fact that is so wobbly when i place it on a flat surface because of that protruding cap, i will return it i am just afraid that the shop will me that is how some solo's are designed or something like that.

This happened after you installed the battery for the first time?Is there a chance you crossed the threads?
I dont believe that the threads are crossed or anything, oddly enough i asked for the guy in the shop if i could open and try the mod when i bought it and he seemed to used some force when he placed the battery i guess he was in hurry, even if the threads are damaged it wasnt my fault so i am gonna return it

I realize that this is a slightly older thread but...

I wanted to pop in and say that with my Solo it's really easy to get the battery compartment cover cross threaded by just a tiny fraction. Although it will screw on perfectly well, it isn't actually flush when it happens and will definitely leave you with an unstable mod. I found that a little dielectric grease on the threads fixes this nicely.

just a regular LG HG2(the brown) battery, the battery height doesnt affect same thing happens without a battery.
The same thing is happening to my aegis 100watt solo! Cap pops off for no reason and when I put it back on it is like it doesn’t catch.. it just spins and spins it takes 20 minutes or more for it to catch
