Got my third Griffin today ...yes I like it that much lol ...but this one the juice control spins so easily with little or no effort? Did I do something wrong? Missing oring? My other 2 are great? Thanks?
That's how the only one I own is. Just thought that's how it's supposed to be. Would also like to know if I'm missing something.

Okay, I just got my Griffin yesterday, built a couple coils, wicked them and reassembled. Oh, I didn't take the wick ring off since the youtubes I watched indicated you really didn't want the wicks much below the ring so I just stuffed the cotton into the small holes behind the ring. Put a ml or so in and fired it up and it worked great.

This morning I was going out so I loaded it up with liquid, not full, maybe 2.5ml. I set it aside and got ready to leave. When I picked it up, the liquid had dropped to maybe a ml that I could see, it was flooded and I had liquid all over the outside. I took the RTA off, put on my normal RDA (I stopped using tanks a couple or more years ago) and set it aside.

Right now I'm vaping what was left in the tank before I take it apart and try to figure out what's amiss. I tried to search leaking but found nothing that addressed what might be wrong. The only thing I believe is it has to be operator error, but anything that might be able to head me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

As I said, I haven't been using tanks for awhile so I'm not up on all the lingo. :( I might see the problem once I open it up again, but I thought I'd check here first.

Sounds like maybe you didn't turn off the juice flow control or airflow control when you filled it.

I've had this for 2 weeks now and I love it. but.... First problem was with the grub screws. They actually broke a pre-made set of clapton's that my vape shop installed when I bought it. No real biggie I made a dual parallel build for it, but here is where the big problem I ran into comes into play. I can't get the juice to flow like it used to. The only way I can get air bubbles to come out of the juice flow holes is to take the top cap off. Ive tried re-wicking it twice (once to top of the ring like every reviewer says and once to the bottom of the juice channel, never stuffing it) but I still have the problem. Did I reassemble it wrong?
Im curious how grub screws could break your wire. The inside of the post flat so there is nearly no way to pinch it off enough to break

:w00t: :-x LOL :thumb:

You know, I woke up this morning and decided to vape a bit more trying to empty the tank and study the darn thing. Now I've been vaping for over 6 1/2 years and in exactly one week 6 years without a drag on a cigarette. That, plus getting closer and closer to becoming a septuagenarian, will be my excuse- a senior moment.

I looked at the tank again and realized there was such a thing as juice flow control, and yes, it was wide open. Maybe I should have spent a little more time understanding the technology, eh?

Definitely want to close the juice flow when filling, but that really doesn't explain most of it draining out after it set. My first guess is just not enough wicking. For so long every review of every tank talks about not using too much. Even a lot which I think goes back to the old kayfun days of just barely leaving then touching the deck, etc. But most of today's tanks. Especially subohm ones that need to flow a lot of juice to keep up you just can't do that with. I think there has been a lot if "fear too much wick" bred by these early tanks and in my opinion it just causes issues.

Use a Scottish roll. Jam the coil full. If it won't all shove down behind the ring then trim it just slightly until the tails do. Don't be afraid to have lots of cotton, or to have it feel like it's pretty tight in the channels. A Scottish roll wicks so well and stores so much juice it's almost impossible to have too much. And if those juice holes are plugged with wick it won't leak.

This thing... Wow, amazing amazing amazing! Built a very quick dual 24g 3mm ID build, wicked with Rayon.

Very crude wick job, could've put less in but still I'm in love, tolerances are great on everything, zero leaking even on filling, no dry hits at 65w and flavour and vapour for days! Flavour is much better than cthulhu v2 and aromamizer with the same build.

The machining also deserves a mention, simply brilliant, especially considering the price point.

Had the same problem with mine today. No matter how I wicked it, it wouldn't keep up. I noticed that the juice channel ring had worked it's way up about a 1/4. It didn't look like that would have a huge impact on the wicking. But it did. Tightened down and it's back to keeping up with my chain vaping. This might not be the culprit to your dilemma. But it's worth a look.

Hey all. I JUST received my griffin tank when i got home just a hour ago. I opened up the package and took a look at it. The first thing i did was spin the airflow ring to see how tight it was and all i heard was crunching sounds. Im guessing small metal fragments are stuck between the a/f ring and the base. I went ahead and further inspected the tank. Unscrewed the base from the tank. All seemed well, i grabed the posts with my index finger and thumb and grabed the base with my other hand and attempted to see if the airflow and juice control section would unscrew so i could get the metal parts out of between there. And one of the posts snapped off. I dunno if it just wasnt tight enough or if i broke something. I dunno this is a bummer...

Get that sucker replaced. I hate that has happened. It's a top notch tank. It's about a week away from taking the crown from my Billow v2. I have been a die hard Billow fan and it's looking like they will soon be retired. I just ordered my 3rd Griffin so.......

This just sucks. Now i have to pay for it to be shipped back. Which will take a week. Then wait for them to inspect. Then ship it back which is another week. If they deny my replacement because i "tampered" with it ill never buy from them again.

I hardly put any pressure on it to twist it. Even if it were my fault for messing with it, it should never be that easy to snap it off. I think you guys should be careful with yours

Did Geek Vape change something with the newer tanks? Just got mine today and it doesn't have the "Griffin" logo in cursive on the chimney section. It's just blank but on the other side of the chimney there's a Griffin picture logo. Looks weird like that. Lol
That's what mine looks like - I've had it a month or two!

Mine's like that. Got mine just after New Year, I think only the first run had the writing on the chimney.

I see! It's unfortunate, it looks quite strange now after seeing all of the reviewer's like that.

What a great tank this is. My only issue with it is accessing the deck without pulling the chimney out with it. Other than that, this thing is flawless for me. Wicking 90VG with ease!
