I disagree that all rta's are a pita. Had the Nano dialed in fairly quickly and Zeus wasn't hard either. rda is not for everyone if they don't squonk. Wicking and coil placement is key to both rda and rta. That just has to be learned regardless of what you're using.

Not all RTAs are a pita, imho ...many can be a pita. Zeus has a high learning curve when it comes to wicking. I’ve made over a dozen coils and I still haven’t found that sweet spot, where I can honestly say; “I’m bored, what’s next?”

RDTA might be a better compromise for a beginner. Ijoy limitless is a good choice for a beginner.

I have backups for backups. Plus my current 5 in daily rotation. I blame Eskie for believing I need a Therion 166c. Fingers crossed that they release another Therion.

I’ve been browsing elemenvape website for half a day, and I keep mentally buying Lost Vape mods.
In my mind I keep arguing with my self :“It’s only 75w and $90.” Then my Grownup half guilt trips me and stops me from spending money. If I ever meet my better half of myself, I will punch him and thank him after....lol

I'm right there with you. The TV Exus Ark is a good looking mod that performs well. Enjoying mine and cheaper than DNA. I'm hoping to find a Smoant Gaia on sale. Like the silver one and I trust the brand. Wouldn't mind another Ark as well. Bought the Charons for backups. Would like to have another Hugo 133 for the closet too. Don't care if backup mods are pretty and the come in handy trying new rtas. Have a Crius 2 I was gifted on the Hugo now. No leaks so far, but it is bottom af. Great rta I have to admit.

WIRE: Finding that the twisted wires are working the best. Tried 24g and 26g Kanthal, and 24g SS316L. All of them twisted and spaced. All of them tasting great. The SS seems to taste a little better, but as a newbie that could be that it is the newest wire I have tried. :) And I can't wait to get some 26 and 28g SS to test and see if that is actually correct.

POSITION: I have noticed that I am getting better flavor with the coil mid way on the posts.

COIL WRAP: I have stuck with 3mm jig, but I have found that wrapping the coil clockwise, placing it in the Zeus and then bending it back around to give it a little more coil has worked wonders on this deck. Wrapping it counterclockwise makes the coil drop in easier, but it gives me a more muted flavor.

WICKING: The absolute key to this deck. I have found the Scottish roll to work the best. Since you want a very thick piece of cotton in the coils, but I have thinned the ends out starting about 1.5mm from the coil, and straightened them all out with taking out the snarls. I have left about 1mm of cotton on the bottom of the deck, and made sure to spread it out to catch as much juice as possible. This seems to work the best to keep the coil full of juice. With this setup I have chain vaped on the Zeus without any dry hits at all.

POWER: I like a warm vape so, with the .15ohm SS I was vaping around 55 watts. With the latest build (26g, twisted, 6/5, 3mm, clockwise, 5ohm) I am running 45 watts with amazing flavor and clouds.

LEAKS: No leaks so far, but I am finding that after 3-4 days I get some juice on the 510 pin. Not much, but just a little bit of moisture.

Think about it...

RTA is for regular vaper
RDTA is for astronaut
RDA is for Vape Shopkeeper
Squonkable RDA is for milker
:pervy:

My Pixy RDTA is much easier to use than any of the RTAs I own- I can dry burn or recoil and rewick as the deck sits above the juice tank- much less mess and way more convenient! My RDTA never leaks and is very easy to fill too and great flavor. Even though this is a dual coil, I have had no problems with the Pixy and it has become one of my favorites, and will be adding a few more to my collection.

I get my first Zeus RTA (blue) today, though not in the color I prefer ... and it is all by luck through an auction of facebook group. I never expect to win but somehow I manage to bid for one at a price lower than the Zeus (SS color) that I bought from FT.

The first thing I do is to replace the pair of Philip scrub screw size at M2.5*3 with Hex scrub screw size at M2.5*4, IMHO, Hex type screw is more durable and easier to tighten coil on the Zeus deck.

My first coil is a 4mm SS Stagger Fused Clapton coil, 5 wraps in clockwise.

As of this writing, I have just made my first refill, the easiest top refill I ever experience - 200 times easier than conventional type of top refill. My hand is as clean as before refill, man... I have to thank that Mr. who have invented this top fill mechanism...

My only disappointment is the dishonest auction seller sent me a blue Zeus instead of the one in gun metal color which I have chosen and as a result, it does not match my Aspire Speeder nicely.
