Thank you. I am going to have to watch some YT videos of both and decide. I am very happy to know about it. The only instructions I have seen are for using a regular drill, which seemed a bit unwieldy to me. ;)
Me too ;) I also watched all the vids on YouTube then decided on the the Daedalus :)

If you get pretty good at ss tri core fc wire you'd have a customer to offset your costs Pam.:D

I was complaining about how hard to find fused Clapton wire in Ni80, so my husband suggested that as a business idea for my son and me together. LOL IDK We shall see how it goes. :D

I bought the Daedelus Pro V2 from FT. The GINGERBREAD code still works, so it was $38.64. I need to turn a corner of my house into a shop now. 2018 is the year of learning to make Clapton wire and exotic coils. I NEVER in a million years saw myself doing this. LMAO If my old friends could see me now.

After using the jig with my own drill I kind of wish I had spent the extra money and bought the complete kit. It would be nice to be able to easily adjust the speed and have both hands free. That's just me though.

FINALLY!!! FT delivered my Zeus (28 days from "shipped" date). I have never had FT take so long to get a shipment to me. But it's here. Have been using for about 12 hours. Flavor is okay at this point, but I expect it to improve after break-in time. Put a 3mm Tigerwire in. 0.29 ohm. Vaping at 40-42 watts. Today I will recoil with a 3.5-4mm coil. Needs more juice on the coil and this 3mm just isn't cutting it. Wicking with Japanese cotton with a slight thinning of the tails. Tails just touching the bottom of the juice "tray" under the deck.

Looking forward to a day of experimenting a little. Get this puppy dialed in.

Love the filling and quick release top on this. I would not mind if the fill openings were a tad larger though. But I use a squeeze bottle and it does fit in the slots. Not sure why people use the dropper method. I know it's kind of cool, but slow and messy even with the larger openings. We're not feeding a stray bird here ... just adding juice so I can get back to vaping!

Unicorn bottles are for me the best for filling in any style atty. My grubs were supposed to be here yesterday and still no joy.:(

Elementvape has a good selection of Ni80 premade wire.

That was what made the decision easy for me. That, and the great price from FT. Thank you for the suggestion. :)

One thing I have noticed...it doesn't seem that you need to try and keep the tails in the wick channels. I was starting to get close to a dry hit when I did 3-4 consecutive pulls. I took out the deck and spread the tails out, ignoring the wick channels and it seems to wick much better. I may have too much cotton, but it is just snug in a 3.5mm coil and the tails just lightly thinned. Anyway, it's working fine with wick tails spread out some from the channels.

EDIT: I noticed the tails get replaced into the channels after screwing the base back in. When I took it back off this morning the tails were tucked back into the channels just by screwing the base in. I did trim the tails off the deck and it is wicking fine. up to 36watts on a 0.34 ohm coil. Seems to me it should keep up at higher watts but it starts to lag behind on wicking.

I rarely brag but, I can’t help my self. I’m like a kid at a candy store.

Preface.
I’ve never used fused clapton or clapton wire till last week, when I purchased Ni80 clapton and fused clapton premade wire. So I have no first hand experience with any other clapton or fused clapton wire materials.

Having that said.
Many of you have shared your experience, that Zeus loves cotton; the more the better.
I have lost count as to how many different ways I have wicked Zeus. At the end of the day, Scottish roll is the best hands down imo.

If your take your time, even with the cheapest cotton, add 5min, separating cotton as wide as possible, it’s well worth it.

I don’t stuff the coil. Light light friction. If you made a proper Scottish roll, there is no reason to stuff the coil imo.
I cut off/ remove half the cotton material from the tails. 1-2mm on the deck. Fluff it up.

This will give you a tiny juice spit back, which i love above 45w.
But even at 15w, I get great flavor.

YMMV
