NiCr80 is 80% Nickel and 20% Chromium. Whereas, Nichrome60 is actually a NiCrFe600 alloy ~ has a high iron mix, vz. 60% Nickel, 16% Chromium and 24% Iron.
NiCrFe has a higher temp coeffecient than the NiCr80 - and thus is very suitable for using at situations where high heat is needed in a compact space. Thus,
vaping! It is also used in Aerospace, Nuclear Reactors, Thermometers etc.
I have not found much difference in using either, except that the Nichrome60 heats up faster and thus releases heat faster as well. It is akin to using 34AWG Kanthal vis-a-vis 28AWG while retaining the form, malleability and strength of the higher gauge wire.
I haven't noticed any off taste, and in fact like it better for the aforesaid reason/s. But it is difficult to find within our
vape community as most of our vendors are selling the NiCr80 types.
