What seems to be the most insignificant part on this atty may well be the biggest PITA!
I'm talking about the tiny o-rings on the fill ports. It seems one of my o-rings has swelled just enough to not want to stay in the recess. I played with it for a half hour before finally getting it to stay in long enough to get the cover on. Meanwhile I lost a tank full of juice in the process. I can already see where this may be an irritating problem; and I have NO SPARES!!

Thanks for the shout in your vid Q.

Quick update,

I resolved my shorting issue by very carefully filing my posi screw.

First successful build was 28g, 8 wrap.

Average vapor and flavour and leaked. Both failures were my fault due to lazy build and poor wicking.

Second attempt tonight.

28g - 6 wrap - 2mm dia - 0.86 ohms. Carefully wicked.

Dramatic, night & day improvement.

Vape is now full of flavour and denser vape, no leaks.

I feel though that it has far more to offer when I get it really tuned in.

One of the reasons I love this atomizer is that it doesn't take long to learn how to get the best out of it and once you're there, it also doesn't take long at all to set it up. Within a week or two, this atomizer fits like a glove. ;)

For those that have experienced leaking, where is the leaking coming from? I experienced a very tiny amount of leaking coming from the 510 pin. The leaking was due to user error, not enough wick in the channels. That being said, i was very surprised to see it coming from the 510 pin. I would have expected it to come from the AFC. The 510 pin looks to be sealed, i see a little black oring or rubber of some type where you screw the pin in so i was surprised when i saw tiny amount of juice on the 510 pin of my mod.

Hi, I'm brand new to this forum but not to rtas. I recently bought a Gem and figured I'd ask you experts some questions on building it. I've set it up a few times and it's been ok, certainly a good vape, but I know I still need to tweak some things to get it right. Most of my kanthal builds on Kayfuns or SquapeR type tanks are usually 28g, 2mm, 9 wraps in the 1.4ohm range wicked with rayon. With the Gem, so far I've been using the same build with a few less wraps, say 1.2ohm. Two questions: 1.What target ohm range have people had the most success with for this particular tank? 2. After installing the coil, are you leaving the bottom of the coil completely level with the juice channels, or are you raising it/ lowering it at all? Thanks in advance!

Can only speak for myself, but I build the standard 2.4, 8 wrap, 1.5 ohm, vaping at 14.5 with my favorite juice. I do raise the coil just a bit.
