Pebble Beach Interview - Clint Eastwood

Paraphrasing ...

Announcer: So Clint, I understand you saved a life recently using the Heimlich maneuver, tell us about that.

Clint: Well, I was at a party on the eve of the AT&T Pro-Am when I noticed a man choking. I looked in his eyes and saw that look of terror people have when they see their life passing before their eyes. So I performed the Heimlich maneuver and on the 3rd try a cheese ball flew across the room.

Announcer: I guess you would know about that look of terror ... with the number of people who have stared down the barrel of a .44 mag.

I have seen that look! The person, that 'attempted' to mug me. But, it was my .357. :)

I remember seeing that when it aired, I had heard Joe, but never saw him. I saw John perform that and thought what the heck. I assumed like everything that they were mocking Joe. Then I saw Joe perform and realized that John was not exaggerating very much.

I thought that Joe Cocker had some sort of physical ailment, but found that he just "felt" so much while he sang that his body just contorted.
John Belushi was a very talented man, he sang very well. My favorite film of his was "Neighbors"

I thought the same thing about Joe, I think the 1st time I saw him was the movie "Woodstock".

Anyone watch the men's downhill last night? 1st 8 places separated by about 1/2 a second ... that is nuts!

And now for something completely unrelated...

[Rant]What happened to the Discovery Channel? It used to be you had interesting nature and science shows. Now you have shows like the Devils Ride, Moon Shiners and other shows about other assorted douche bags. Really? This is the Discovery Channel? What's next, a "reality tv" show about pimps and hookers? A show about the lives of those involved in illegal dog fighting? An exciting weekly show about the world of septic tank cleaning? Its been a sad down turn for the company over the past few years. Get back to being about Discovery - in nature and science rather than about the lives of the unwashed masses who never finished high school. [/Rant]

I agree, use to be a staple for me but not anymore. Try NOVA if you can find it, seems to be hanging in there with good science & tech episodes.

Here is a question, I never heard back from the guy that make the Doohickies, would this work? It looks just like it, plus, Ive seen some that measure from 0.0 to 99V that have 3 wires, where would I put the 3rd one ( dont say naughty things, I know some of you with your dirty minds:) )

I have met, some really crappy people in this town. Paradise: 1) A place, old people who worked hard, retire to. 2) A place younger/crappy people go, to start over after they screwed-up somewhere else. My problem, I worked hard and retired here, but I'm not old. For me, the pickings are real slim here! I wish the weather wasn't so good. I would go home.

Who would have thunk? Life is funny! :)

Maybe you should do some retirement traveling. You know, you've probably got vaping buddies all over the place, so you can pick and choose which ones to go hang out with and when based on the time of year ;-)

So the third wire would be placed on the side of the battery? Just want to be sure, I really want to make sure the batteries I have are worn out , or still holding a charge before I toss them. BTW, how should we be disposing of old batteries?

I knew that our minds would go there as I was typing:oops:

no, not on the battery. That would be for a true ground (not negative battery connection that some people refer to incorrectly as "ground"). The 3-wire meters are probably intended to go into a device that is already grounded somehow, so it would be tied in to that ground circuit. If I'm correct in my assumption, then in our applications and at our low voltages it could just be capped off and ignored (but if I'm wrong and it's not a ground, that could be bad, so you'd have to find out for sure what its purpose is). I can't think of what else it would be for DC
