I've had a few successes and a few failures with my DIY liquids. I'd just like to post what I've learned from reading on forums and just from my own experience.

General Tips:
-Dont throw away any bottles, unless they become useless
-Label everything you make, including nicotine strength, flavor, ratio, etc
-Start off with less flavoring and work your way up to appropriate taste
-buy some kind of Drip-o-mizer to test your flavors
-buy lots of extra bottles
-Dont waste time with 36mg VG or PG, just go with the 100mg, its worth the extra $
-Syringes, with blunt tip, also use some clear nail polish on the measuring side so it wont wash off in time

My tips:
-Green apple is a strong flavor, 10% at 60/40 PG/VG was way too strong
-More is not always better
-Get some kind of container or box to store your liquids in, i had a drawer and it quickly became cluttered, plus the box would be mobile
-make sure you have lots of room to work when your mixing

any other tips you guys might want to add?? Id like to know things like:
-when to use ethyl maltol and how much should you use
-what kinds of flavoring should "sweetener" be applied to
-how many MG of menthol crystals to ML should be used

I make a detailed recipe/list of ingredients and proportions in a book,(drops first then ml's.) giving each
a number and then number the bottle's accordingly. It's hard to write all the
info on a small bottle plus ink runs and smudges when it gets dripped on.
Caps can be inadvertently switched so I don't identify them.

I don't give anything a "name" until I'm done changing the recipe.(no names yet!)

After trials(and 1-2wks.) I rate it and add to the recipe notes as to what tweaks I feel might help it.

I don't throw out unvapables, I throw them together, thin them down with unflavoured and add
either menthol crystals or vanilla flavouring(I like both) to taste to use it up.

I'm "really" new to this so.....do your own thing, I do.

Best tip I have is taking old bottles with stubborn juice stains or strong smells. I take them and soak them in straight white vinegar undiluted for a few hours and then rinse them out very well with water and soap. Let them air dry for awhile. They are good as new. The acidity in the vinegar is great for cleaning. No left over or carry over vinegar to new juice if you use soap and water after.
