Greetings All!

I just wanted to pop in and drop a line or two about this cartomizer I'm trying out. It's an interesting story because most of these stories start pretty badly and end up worse :3 This one is much better.

I was at my favorite vapor boutique yesterday picking up some coils, and having a little time on my hands before work, I hung out and swapped tales with one of the juice mixer guys there, and he started telling me about this cartomizer they had gotten in. It's a pretty pathetically unimpressive looking thing, being not much more than a stainless steel tube that will screw into an eGo type battery at one end and receive a drip tip on the other end; inside is the coil buried somewhere in a tube wound up of cotton cloth for its full length; one drips the juice in by the drop after removing the drip tip. It takes about 40 drops from new and dry, and about 25 or 30 to resaturate the cloth.

I get about two or three hours out of it, which is considerably less than I get from a tank; but man, the hit quality!

Nice vapor volume, without adjusting VG/PG; throat hit is present but not like a hammer to the vocal chords; and the flavor doesn't vary from what comes straight from the juice bottle tip.

It's very nice to vape, though it looks a bit weird ;)

I'm told I should be able to refill it for a couple weeks to a month, depending on how often I use it; at 4$ per cartomizer, it seems like a pretty good way to keep things interesting from time to time :)

Happy Vaping!

Cheers
James

Hi James.

What I think you have tried out is what many of us started vaping with... a quality (as opposed to shopping-mall FAIL) cartomizer.

They can be superb, and some folks like to put them in a tank, which can also be superb.

Unless you have discovered some new technology, you won't get that long from one and $4 per cartomizer is about $2.50 more than I pay for BOGE single coils.
Happy to be proved wrong though... maybe it's something exciting for us all.

As Susan-S asks, does it have a name? :)

I don't think it has a name - but I will ask my guy at Firehouse Vapors and get back to y'all. Yes, this one is easily incorporated into a tank (he is using his this way atop a Provari mod).

Cheers
James

Great!

A Provari with a carto-tank is often the connoisseurs choice. :)

I used this set-up for ages (albeit with an EVIC). The only reason I stopped was that one day, I went on a 300km drive and it suffered an apocalyptic leak.

I blame BMW for their hard suspension.

LOL

Actually this thing ended up lasting through about three days of continuous use. It worked well, delivering very good flavor, but it's a bit too 'disposable' for my lifestyle ;)

    Cheers

If that's bcause of the price, they're quite affordable on the web @ $1 apiece...

Plus, a nice carto-tank looks alot nicer than a clearo tank, anyday.

James - what do you think of the shop selling you this and saying it would last a couple of weeks to a month?

I think they were wrong about that.

Anyhow, disposable is disposable. A carto can last as long as a clearo atomizer head (3-7 days) and costs a little less in some cases.

Look into Aspire BVC if you want longer life-span.... some of mine have made 20 days. :)
