Gently used Protank 2 New Issue

I have had this Protank 2 for a few months now, and I have successfully vaped at least three tanks with it before I initially lost interest. Last night I decided that I would use it in place of the plastic evod tank I usually take to work with me. Tested it out, and the head fired, but there was no vapor. No biggie, threw in a stock head, tested it out, and got low vapor on a dead battery. Changed batteries, tested it out, got medium vapor production. In all honestly I was just minuets ago puffing on my Kayfun blowing huge clouds, and medium vapor production from the lil Protank just seemed typical? It seemed like enough for the Protank, let's just put it that way. Anyways, satisfied I powered off the device and stuck it in my bag so I wouldn't forget it in the morning.
It was ok for a bit. I'd get vapor but never a real satisfying cloud. Then towards the end of the day, vapor cut off. The head fires, I hear it, but it sounds choked. It's like trying to suck through a straw. This setup has airflow, this is the same device I've always used this tank on, and it has always worked. Until last night.
What am I missing here? Sometimes these things are more complicated than a rebuildable smh.

Try backing out the positive pin on the coil a tiny bit. If its been pushed in to far the grommet may be choking the air flow somewhat.

I tried messing around with that last night. I tried loosening it until it leaked. Even real loose, it gave a very tiny amount of vapor.

Are you using a thick juice perhaps? I would rewick a new head with a single piece of cotton (no flavor wicks), wet it with juice before you put the chimney on, fill, flip over, take a couple primer puffs, if bubble comes up you are ready to rock. Or if you are feeling adventurous remove the existing head, wicks, and dry fire it for the sake of science.

I'm using Nicotickets H1N1 and was also running it in my evod tank which is doing just fine with it.
I've built many things before, but never a Protank head. I guess I could try rebuilding it but it was brand new, stock head.
Is it common for them to have a lot of issues?

I have absolutely no issues with my protank mini II............ the coil gums up rather quickly due to the darker tobacco flavors I use, but that's about it............ I don't feel the need to upgrade.........not the tank anyways... could always use a nuclear battery though

So last night I pulled the non working Protank head out and screwed it into another tank. And guess what? It worked just fine. So now I'm even more confused.

It might have to do with the positive pin insulator on the protank head not contacting the PV's pin. Just wiggle the protank pin down a ioda and try to pull the rubber insulator down a bit also. Its very easy to squish the insulator if you over tighten the atty a bit too much especially if its one of those opaque clearish insulators.

So you're saying that the head is screwed on too tight to connect to the pt pin, and the pt pin is not making good enough contact with the PV pin?

It could have been screwed on too tight onto a PV and now the rubber insulator is squished, probably just from normal handling or being in a pocket. It doesn't take much to squish those opaque insulators.

It's like trying to suck through a straw." that sounds like a squished insulator to me. If you turn the head over and look from the bottom and see a ring of insulator behind the positive pin then you got restricted airflow. A kanger airflow adapter does fix a lot of the protank airflow issues since its a open concept like the PT mini, the air is not going into the base and through the threads past the insulator like in the protank 1 and 2 stock base.
I even drilled out my adapter with a 1/16 bit to give even better airflow, to be able to use low ohm builds without it getting the burny taste I was getting from IMO not enough air past the coil, coil getting too hot and juice burning onto the coil thus creating the burny taste. I can vape .6 ohm builds in my protank now and I am happy.
