I'm getting really bored with spending good money on rubbish. I've bought a few tanks, some I like and others I don't. The tanks themselves aren't really the problem, it's the crap coils, starting to get to me.

Kanger tanks; liked the Protank 2 and Protank 2 mini - fed up buying crap coils. Knowing my luck the only 2 genuine coils I've tried are the ones that came with the tanks, if indeed they were genuine. In the beginning I picked up a couple of MT3's for the girlfriend, 1 fake and 1 genuine, but I didn't like those, too tight for me.

Hypertank; great looking tank but yet again crap coils resulting in leaking.

iClear16; worked fine, a bit leaky. Got a few of these when I started, apart from the leaking they were fine, lol.

iClear30; liked it but heads are expensive and they use a lot of juice.

Aspire Nautilus; worst thing I've ever bought, BDC heads are the biggest joke I've come across since I started vaping. I even bought the rebuildable kit but with my eyes being bad for close-up work that's proven to be another waste of money. I will never buy another Aspire product, ever!

If I don't get a decent tank with decent coils soon I'll probably bin the lot and buy some tobacco, getting to that stage now.

Gonna encourage you to stick with it. Its frustrating when you cant find a set up that works for you. You're gonna get a ton of replies saying get the BVC coils for your Naut, so I might as well be the first. Doesnt sound like rebuilding is your thing so I wont suggest and RBA.
Have a Fogger and all the kit to rebuild, just not the eyes. Got some glasses but they're the wrong prescription so have to go back at some point.
All I want is a tank with a decent coil, beginning to think there's no such coil.
No, won't buy the BVC's and to be honest, the Nautilus will probably meet the hammer later today.
Have nothing to vape on until the girlfriend gets in and haven't bothered ordering anything else, have wasted enough cash.

Do it! :)

In all honesty Steve, you should at least try the BVCs.

I flatly refused to buy the BDCs because I knew within 24 hours of them coming on the market that experienced vapers were having all sorts of trouble with them.
If 5-year vapers are coming on forums and asking "why is this not working", you know there is trouble.

I guess you don't want to give them another penny, and I understand that. Like me with some brands....

How about the Naturevapes? I mean the Pro heads, not the DCD. Apart from threading the wick through the coil when needs re-wicking, poor eyesight shouldn;t be a problem. Will work in your Protank 2's. Also good in Fasttech's RG200 and RG400, which are decent tanks and not expensive.

I share your opinions on the Kangers, especially Mini Protank 3 - coils don't last, difficult to rebuild, tight draw little better than a CE4/5. Those clearos and the iclear16, leaky buggers. As is the Fogger. I've found the Kayfun much more forgiving, and easier to work on than rebuilding a Kanger head.

Have you tried the NatureVapes Pro Coils? I can manage cotton and so can the girlfriend, it's just the actual coils I can't make at the minute and she doesn't fancy trying it, lol

+1 for Naturevape coils. Sooo much better than the stock coil units, and it would seem to fit your needs and restrictions.

I would also encourage you to check out the reo subforum. It's rebuilding, so something for another time in your vape career, but doing a little reading and seeing what the thing is all about would give you a sense of how easy and rewarding it actually is. I was you a time ago - tanks leaked, coils failed, and rebuilding was for extremists. Little by little, I edged my way to the happy place I'm in now and if you'd told me I was going to be using a reo and rebuilding some months ago, I'd have laughed in your face.

So,

Step 1 - get a setup that you can live with today. Don't give up on vaping. Try better coil units.

Step 2 - check out some of the subforums on more advanced gear to demystify jargon and process (e.g., the reo sub: Reos Mods).

Step 3 - who knows?

Yes, I bought five Naturevape Pro coils in early June, put them in RG200 tanks, and use them in rotation. All are still going, no loss of performance so far as I can tell, re-wick every couple of weeks. The quality of vape is not a million miles from Aerotank Mega with a new Kanger head, or Kayfun/Taifun of my jerry-built construction. Not saying on a par with, but frankly a lot less hassle, and a helluva lot better than iclear16 or Mini Protank 3, which are creations of torment made by Beelzebub.

If it's coil-building is the problem, then get the $3, 50-pack of Fasttech NR-R-NR 1.5 ohm coils, use them on old Protank heads, or even the dual coil heads, with cotton wool. Won't last as long as the Naturevapes, but there's satisfaction in knowing each one cost sixpence...

My kind of thinking. I have some of the "new" coils with cotton in my fastech basket... and some RG200 clearomizers.

I know how to save a few quid.

When they arrive, I'm going to try them in a variety of "applications" (w.t.h?) and see if even the PT2 can reach new heights of vapour legend.

Cheaper than the RG200, and recommended by others, is the RGM2 - but it has integrated drip tip, which I didn't fancy. The RG400 is worth a look, as it holds twice as much, costs not much more, and easier to fill. It comes in stainless and a rainbow steel version - got one, can't take it out of the house, I'd be arrested as a pimp.

Thanks for the input, guys. :)
I've gone ahead and ordered 2x N-Vape Midi Pro tanks and 2x NatureVape Pro Coils [good to have a spare].
Fingers crossed these are as good as your saying. :)
Noticed the Gizmo on there, had been looking at the MicroStick so may get a couple of those in the future too.
I've never used SlowTech but I'm going to check it out now, I'm finding the prices hard to ignore now.
Apologies if I seemed a bit off and grumpy yesterday, I was. Came close to buying some tobacco but resisted and went as far as rolling one for a guy in the pub and felt no urge to have one.
Happy days and thanks again.

It's definitely a frustration - and can be a money pit too, but it's gotta be worth it in the long run.

I quite fancy trying the Nautilus (albeit with the new coils) but have been using the mini protank 3's from healthcabin, with either the dual coil or the upgraded dual coil (also bought from there) and found them to be really good - especially for the price.

I did buy an Aerotank cheaply from Vapefest (not the latest version though) and find I'm using it the most. I do like an airy vape!

Let us know how you get on with the Naturevape - I've got a couple, but still not tried them yet.

If you've not smoked in that long, you've done amazingly well already - probably enough to put you off the cigs at any rate. I'm sure every person here has and days like yours was yesterday.

Hopefully the naturevapes will get you back on track to enjoying your vaping again.
