They there,

This is Zofryer. Captain of what matters to vapers. There's an improved screwdriver based on the Romisen A8 body that the original and current Screwdriver models are based off of. It's called the DSE905! Currently, two vendors offer it at significantly reduced pricing over the way overpriced "Screwdriver" from trog and "Totally Wicked" which is a silly demonic name. Here are the links for people that want to save 100 bucks in the US for the same damn thing:

Thank you. I just thought you should know about this update to the Scroedriver, and how cheap it is.

Love You

thanks for posting, but i'l pass- i don't think i'll buy another 3.7v pv again- unless it has a high voltage option

I agree.. I like my SD.. it has done a very good job.
I am looking to eventually get a unit that will perform at 5v if I want and 3.7. Probably wouldnt mind the 6v but I have read a lot of reveiws that state most 6v units produce a burnt taste to the flavorings and I don't want that.

Ha Ha

you got to be selling these things how can you compare the dse905 to the real screwdriver

A high quality PV like the Screwdriver or any other PV like my silver bullet costs more money because of what you get not because its some sort of rip off.

these posts about the 905 screwdriver rip off have to be a joke don't they? the side button looks like a standard ecig button and we all know how long they last.

My advise if moneys tight is forget the dse905 and save your money for the real thing as i did.

For me it's common sense the Chinese make some things well and some things really bad so buy the cheap throw away atomizers and stick to a UK or USA made PV with a switch that will last a long time and you cant go wrong.

If your going to vape all the time and not go back to smoking a well made PV is what you need and not a collection of cheap Chinese toys :D

sorry if my post sounds out of hand or preachy but i think all these posts about the 905 are just to try and sell the thing i have not seen one post production model reviewed on the net at all i wonder why that is ?

All the best
Andy

How about a review? What is so improved? My Protege is nothing more than a manual battery for my 510. It also cost 10 times more than I can get a 510 manual battery. Cheaper doesn't always translate into improved. Back your claim with some details other than price.

They aren't the same thing or the 905 wouldn't be an improvement. This post sounds more like an advertisement than someone legitimately wanting to help the community. If you really want to help everyone out, do a detailed review, use it for a few weeks and report on it. Better yet, compare the two if you have a screwdriver. Perhaps then we'll promote you to captain, for now you are still a deck hand... :p

The price, what you expect to pay for a cheap copy, (both in hand, not even close to SD finish quality). The button, the placement of the button on the SD is so natural and easy to use that if you changed you kill one of the SD great advantage.

This just IMHO, nothing against the DSE905 but I cant take it as an improved Screwdriver

well, afaik the button was never be something to talk positive about on the screwdriver.

folks, trog did a nice mod to a torchlight, but its not a manufacturing milestone.

the chinese make the body from scratch, this alone makes it cheaper, they don't have to order a torchlight to build this, and they don't have to rip it apart.

and the button, well maybe the chinese are a little bit smart and take the heavy load the atomizer needs away from the switch, like others did before. you don't need a big switch for those things if you use a fingernail big piece of electronics. and the placement on the bottom was fine for a torch, as a switch, but not for an e-cig. not a commercial one.

so, no improvements ? oh, yes alone the 14500 battery is an improvement.

The bodies for the Mk 1 SD were NOT supplied to trog as flashlights, the bodies were supplied ready for assembly/machining. Only the prototypes were made by cutting up flashlights.

The Mk 2 has a specially manufactured body.

(By the way if you actually look at the 905 and SD Mk 1 - you can see the bodies have different profiles)

I wondered that too. You would think that the improvements would be listed as a sales pitch ?? Seems odd not to mention what they are to me.

Well, I have both. The improvements are:

The switch is more maintainable and durable, the batteries are bigger and last longer. The supplied batteries are super-protected, but you can also used protected Ultrafire batteries of the same size which are much cheaper. It is sealed (to be fair I have two Mk 1s which have never had juice in the battery compartments, but the Mk 2 is "formally" sealed)
