I will most likely take advantage of the coupon code they sent me but don't know if I will order from getsnus again or not. Even if it's a couple dollars more for an order somewhere else, there would be some satisfaction in not giving them my business. Snuscentral is about the same price on most items and evidentally the shipping is going to be about the same.
I hope you do know that this wasn't a hostile takeover. Northerner are not thugs in this. Getsnus, which is owned by SM, decided to get out of the retail side of it so Northerner took over the.... Getsnus name and web site for there USA devision. It makes sense for them with the PACT act on the horizon to have a site just for US costumers.

Stubby, my complaints against northerner taking over getsnus is mostly over the cancelling of my backorder and making me pay shipping again for something that was included in an order that I already paid shipping for. Secondly, overnight they have pretty much doubled the shipping charge and increased prices on several products. I don't really have anything personal against northerner as a company but I don't agree with how this instant, unannounced takeover went. Third, I know they are probably pretty busy but I have sent emails to them yesterday morning with still no response. This I can excuse for now but would think they could find time to reply at least in two or three days so I will wait patiently for a response from them.
I ran several sample orders and figured out that if you order about 35 cans from getsnus, that will bring the shipping cost per can down to almost what it was before. There won't be any five can orders from me anymore to try new things. I will have to keep my orders large to equal out the shipping cost.
Business as usual I s'pose. Frank made a good post addressing some issues, but didn't really have much detail. Northerner isn't/wasn't my preferred vendor, but life goes on in the battle of who has the snus. I did find it strange that his posts have an innocent undertone. Almost like it was a last minute "Sure, I'll take it" deal. I'm sure negotiations have been going on for some time. Which also makes me wonder how long the good folks at getsnus have known....too long in restocking, "moving to another facility", etc. We're caught in the middle, so now SnusCentral has my allegiance. Frank is a businessman and I wish him well on his latest venture, but I'm not sure he even uses snus. I feel it's just a product to him. Not so with the SnusCentral folks. They may not get any laws changed or tar and feather any lawmakers, but they rely on this stuff just like we do, they growl a lot and loudly like me, and they're active/reactive, not some go-with-the-flow, just-let-me-make-my-money goobers. I'm sure I'll order from Northerner in the future, but I can't get around the opportunist smell in the air.
Katya, the mocca pom. is REALLY good. Hard to describe the flavor, mild sorta sweet, lasts a very long time. I quite enjoy it. I don't really like the mocca licorice but for some reason it packs a punch for me so I use it anyway.
Just been poking around getsnus, 1st time since Friday night, and see prices continue to drop. As far as the stuff I use, by Friday they had it all a few cents cheaper by the roll than the original getsnus did. Today the prices are cheaper still. Thought I ought to pass that along since it helps off-set their higher shipping charges.
Thanks for the info TV. That is good to hear. Unfortunately I had better hold off ordering until I hear what the insurance company says about fixing the little bit of water damage I got. It figures, I was just poised to put a good size order in.

Well I never got a reply from getsnus/northerner after I replied to their email stating that I was not really satisfied with the coupon and would have rather had them just ship what was backordered to me by getsnus. Either they are really busy or they just don't give a damn about getting my business.
I did end up getting a reply from getsnus this morning and basically it said that the new price is the price and they are not going to do anything besides give me the coupon. That's fine. If I have the money before pact kicks in, I will place a big order and get the discount on the whole thing. That should make up the difference.

I was goofing around on the getsnus site running sample orders again and saw that if I ordered a single roll then I could get shipping via usps for 6.00. If I added five more cans then the shipping jumped to 9.12. So I guess if you just wanted five or ten cans right now while usps will still deliver it then it would be worth the shipping. Anything fifteen or above then I would probably just put together a 35 can order.
Am I nuts? I just received an Order from GetSnus.com.. and I just checked and GetSnus's Web Site is still there... Look! Get Snus at GetSnus.com. The US based online snus store
blonde, it's still there but northerner has bought it. If you look at the two sites, you will see how they look similar. Also getsnus is carrying the same brands of snus that northerner does which getsnus used to not carry some of them.
