Getting away from the Provari.. Recommend something to me..

So I've been a loyal Provape customer & have bought at least 6 or 7 Provaris within the last year. Quality is top notch but after a issue I'm dealing with ATM with customer service I think I may be done with them. So can some of you collectors of mods recommend me something high quality with features like the provari & a quality build that I may need to check out? Not really interested in any of the Provari clones or copies but something else that is dependable & quality built. I'd also like for it to use 18350 batts if at all possible.

How about a Buzz pro? No screen however. That may put a wrench in things. Or a mini Reo. Those are awesome.

May I ask why you bought so many? Are they that unreliable? And could you please say what customer service issues you are having?

Cutting out the China VV/VW's's...Buzz, Reo, custom built with a DNA/Nivel

You could always get a nice mech mod and kick it. Like an EA mod or the like

Seeing as I just ordered a Provari Mini and a Z-Atty Pro, I am extremely interested.

They are def reliable no issues there. I've gifted a few to friends in the military headed over to the sand box as gifts to them
Then they released a batch of chrome & black chrome models & I had to have them. As far as my issue goes I'd rather not really blast at the moment until I see a final resolution, but if I end up not being pleased I may just start a thread in the negative reviews section. You shouldn't have any issues they are a well made mod & high quality IMO.

I also like the VV notcigs buzz pro, though it uses 16340 batteries and has no screen. Other than that, it's very dependable, high performance, excellent customer service. Mine's taken lots of hard falls onto concrete, been used in rainy and snowy conditions, consistently good for 6 ml of vaping at 8 - 10W, 4.5 - 5V, between battery changes. The regulator is rock solid, no sag as the batteries deplete, and it can output slightly higher total power (though a smaller voltage range) than a Provari.

If you have an all day vape, the REO VV Grand is a sweet PV. It does use 18350 batteries (two of them), has the same really solid electronics found in the buzz pro, is a 6ml bottom feed PV (still fine to use with cartos, but it sings with a good atty), again excellent customer service. Again no screen, just a simple thumbwheel to adjust voltage,

I use the VV Grand as my all day weekday device, switch to a carto/tank buzz pro for random outdoor activities, while working building things, snow blowing, etc., where I find the tube form factor a bit more amenable to quickly grab the device, take a puff, stuff it back in a pocket.

Well, the Vamo is sort of a clone, but it does have multiple function buttons, is very well built, and uses 18350s. Get the stainless (around $50) if you go this route.

Got a cheap mechanical to see what Kicked mods was all about. Found I liked that for my carto tanks, but getting into RBAs now and finding what I want now is a really nice mechanical mod.

I'm assuming you looked at evic. What disqualified it for you? (Like tA71ana, I'm really new so I'm curious. evic looked to me like a next-gen device, although the 5V/11W limit could be an issue. Turns out it is for me, but only on a poorly made "2.8" atty that is actually 3.5+..)

The build quality kills it for me. I don't baby my mods, I put them in my pocket & go. I'm hard on them, I don't abuse them but I look at mods like a tool. It needs to be able to always perform under hard use. I don't mind paying for build quality by any means. EVIC to me looks ok, but to me it's just like a lot of the other Chinese mods. Give it a couple weeks more & there next great invention will be hitting the market.

FWIW it seems a lot more durable in real life than I thought it would be from pics. Its no armored safe but barring scratches on the screen cover (more on that in a sec) the only weak point is the same I've seen on everything - the atty connection. (There isn't any flex under reasonable pressure but..) The battery tube is just a reinforced metal tube, so its strong, and the battery to control head connection seems durable.

As far as the screen, the way its set up is actually kinda cool. I haven't seen any pics showing this, so I'll try to get some later (just to have laying around.) It is recessed & flat, about 3/4 of the way from the back/button side to the front. The screen cover is smoked/clear, so from the side you can see where the screen sits.

Scratches or even breaking the front plastic probably won't damage the screen itself. (Its done for a practical reason of course - flat screens are a lot cheaper than rounded ones..)

Also, I managed to dump 2ml of juice on it and the seals held with no issues. (That would have been less of an adventure if I hadn't been doing 80 in traffic at the time..)

The real test will be what I think of it in 3 or 4 weeks..

(ETA: that was a lot longer than I thought. Guess I should do a review soon )

FWIW there are two Buzz Pro's in the classies for $50ea, both come with 801 and 510 adapters. That's a heck of a buy!

I'm with you on the evic, it doesn't seem to be "there" just yet.

Not really sure what to tell you, the Buzz and Ipro really are the only ones with the build quality of the ProV, but no display, then you roll the dice on China stuff or spend big and get a Darwin that you have to baby. Unless you find someone to build you something with a DNA board in it?

the darwin is an ok mod but the 510 swivel arm doesn't sound like it would survive your life,it sure wouldn't for me thats why i never got one !!

the buzz pro and ipro ar good butthe tube on those is not too durable and they use stacked batteries,no idea if that is an issue for you or not ??

i'd stick it out on the provari,they have been expanding their operation so they are having some growing pains right now

Friend of mine is sending me a darwin because its his 4th. All swapped under warranty, 2 for arm breakage and 1 for lcd going crazy. He switched to provari and the darwin has been sitting on a shelf since then.. The arm definitely won't qualify for durable..

Just so we all know what I mean by hard on them so everyone will understand I don't abuse. I dang near completely wore off the cerakote finish on a black mini just from pocket carrying for 8 months. No dents or dings, at all just no finish left & that doesn't bother me. It's just adds character & shows I def use my stuff. Ill get it figured out. Thank you all for the excellent suggestions.

If you get anything with a screen you can always get a scratch protector at radio shack - any of the generics can be cut down to fit..
