Hello,

i am vaping for 3 weeks now with the TFV8 Baby Beast on my smok Alien 220W and bought the RDTA iJoy Combo recently.

Now I've already tried prebuilt coils and am doing the coils myself with the coil jig (kuro coil).

Unfortunately my Alien mod tells me the Ohms totally different whenever I screw the atomizer in and out again. The Ohms fluctuating a lot. Also at the heat/glow test, even when the coils glow mostly evenly, sometimes the glow starts at the screw. I've made a video about it.

I've contacted the Seller and he said he has never seen this before and can't understand why this is happening but he is ready to send me a new deck.

What is wrong? Is the atomizer faulty? Will a new deck solve the problem? Should I insist on a complete replacement?

Thank you in Advance!

If the seller is ready to send you a new deck, I'd try that. IDK much about coilbuilding yet, so that's kinda my only solution. It does seem odd that you are getting wildly fluctuating numbers as far as your atty this seems unusual, I mean even with factory coilheads, you can get a bit of variance as you use them, but not that much....

Good luck, hope you get it resolved.

You have a dual coil single wire setup, you are going about taking a resistance reading well it is way off. Most resistance readings are taken at room temp before heating takes place. I deal mostly in temp mode with stainless steel and before I used nickel wire and we rely on the resistance changing for the vaporizer to get the right temp.
I'm not sure what type of wire you are using and I'm not sure about what the hot temp should be but I've heard a light bulb has a very low resistance at room temp and will change by a factor of 10 when lit.
I'd say take a reading at room temp, heat it up and after it gets back to room temp take another reading, they should be about the same. Also check the grub screws to make they are tight.

Hello Thanks for your replies.

I am using the Demon Killer Tiger Wire in that Video (i've made that coil with the coil jig).

I've tightened the screw. There is nothing lose. Now, I did another video with the 2nd Deck from iJoy Combo. This time I've used prebuilt Coils Alien Wire V2 from Demon killer.

Have a look here please:

The resistance is still fluctuating, but not near as much as the first built and the leads also do not glow anymore. What are your thoughts? This also does not seem to be right.

Thank you very much again!

Edit: I've forgot to mention that it unusually takes much longer until glow. Why?

Welcome and glad you joined.
"Seller and he said he has never seen this before" Try getting the new deck and go from there. So many different things going wrong can cause this. It's always best to have the seller attempt the first solution to the problem.
