After lurking around the forum for a couple of days I joined and bought a startup kit. I've been smoking for 40 years and have seen so many smoking cessation aids come and go over the years that I thought e-cigs were just the latest gimmick that would eventually fade like all the rest, I guess this old dog has a few new tricks to learn. I was pleasantly surprised such a strong and pleasant forum here where people get support and information without being called an idiot for asking a "stupid" question.

After gathering info here for a couple of days I was getting what Rolygate called "Paralysis by Analysis" so I took to the Web and found a specialty e-cig store in our city. After talking to the sales lady there, who was extremely proud of what she was selling, I bought some generic gear comparable to an eGo-T 1100mAh battery, a couple of cartomizers, and some accessories all for the price of a carton of analogs. So now I'm enjoying sucking on butterscotch and planning on going back tomorrow to find some more juice.

Thanks to all of you who make this a great forum, I would not have looked here very long and become interested if people were beating up on each other because one set of gear is better than someone else's. Keep up the good work.

Welcome. I just upgraded from an 808 pen style to an ego C (similar to the T) and now Im 100% hooked. I just ordered a variety of juices from highbrowvapor.com, kickbassvapor.com, and altsmoke.com. Biggest thing I can say from my little time as a vaper is don't get discouraged in your search for your all day vape juice. Ive learned there is a lot of trial and error in this process but once you find the right combo for yourself your hooked. Personally I seem to like most juices for a week or so then I have to change it up. Again welcome and you are correct this place is great and friendly.

People here are generally quite friendly. It doesn't matter what gear you use as long as it keeps you off the analogs. It's also nice to have a local shop you can purchase from, most vapers have to order their stuff and wait for it, so count yourself among the lucky few of us who don't have to worry about running out of juice or popping their last atty.

Welcome! I started about a month ago with an Ego-T and my wife with an 808. Last visit to the local retailer to get more flavors, I end up buying some new parts that I have started to experiment with. So far I am really pleased with a little adapter that lets me put the cartos from my wife's 808 onto the battery from the Ego-T. I just ordered a DIY kit today online. I am having much fun with the gadgetry and expect to love DIY liquids too_ I used to love my chemistry set as a kid. ;)

More equipment is on my wish list, had to take that first step Now that I've got a little experience I've gained some knowledge on what is needed, and you're right at least one set of backups of everything are necessary if I'm going to be serious about it.

I think the majority of people buy a set of starter gear they eventually upgrade from. Whatever keeps ya off analogs is all that matters. I am jealous you have a local place to buy :)

I live near a city of 50,000 in the midwest and was astonished to find a brick an mortar shop in town. Apparently a Dad opened up a store in California that was very successful and his son lives here and they decided to try it here. The wall in the store is signed from all the people who have quit smoking with their help, it's an impressive looking wall.

Welcome to the ECF! I think this place is just fantastic!

I too am jealous that you have a B&M store locally... The "quitters" wall sounds awesome. I would love to see it. If it is possible I wonder if they would let you take a pic and post it here? If it is something they would let you do and if it is OK per the ECF rules, I for one would really like to see it.

Welcome aboard Tiny. Glad you made the switch. First off, please make sure you are ingesting tons of water. Vaping dehydrates plus the water will help flush out all the toxins.

As for juice, and if I read you right, you are buying from a local store? Go online and check out some of the vendors. Click on Forum suppliers at the top of any page and it will take you to the reliable vendors that ECF approve.
