I like the Kanger bottom coil systems (Protank I, II & EVOD) rebuilt with a semi-micro coil and cotton wick. I get amazing flavor and vapor from these device from the first hit to the last. Another item to consider that I don't read much mention of is cross-contamination. Keep your equipment as clean as you can without obsessing over it. Wash and thoroughly dry your your hands before refills. Don't make direct skin contact with any piece of hardware that will come in contact with juice meant to be vaped. I'm talking about coils, tank-threads and wicks. I can tell when I've contaminated my device and juice almost immediately. Also, make sure your device is properly primed before taking a vape. ...especially your first. If you burn your wick or filler material you'll permanently ruin the flavor of the juice until the burnt item is removed and the device cleaned.

Don't be put off by the learning curve, rebuilding is fairly easy.

While I've never had any problems building gennies I would never tell anyone that building them with stainless or ceramic wicks is anything approaching easy. Working out shorts on stainless is a true idiot's delight and the resulting carbonized steel may not taste lovely to everyone.

Hot-wrapping ceramic wicks can be flat-out tricky so as to get the wick wrapped tightly with no gaps without snapping the very pricey ceramic wick. While it seems most people don't mind I'm not a fan of what the heat sink effect of both stainless and ceramic does to the flavor of juice.

Not expert here, just trying to share.

Previously using a Vivi Nova, Protank 2 then a hybrid dripper and now, the best taste comes from iThaka coil to 1.0 ohm, very full-bodied and dense cloud. On the other hand, my friend recently got the Killer 705 and send me great review. He said when using chocolate mint, it's exactly like chocolate melting in the mouth. hahaha.. Duno how true is that..
