You are a "success story" in every sense of the phrase! Don't feel bad about vaping less or even wanting to give up vaping. For some it's simply an alternative to cigarettes, and for others it's a means to an end. Personally, I want to quit also. I'm tired of charging batteries, I'm tired of refilling my tanks, I'm tired of going through my mental checklist of vaping items before I leave for work, I'm tired of priming cartomizers, I'm tired of BUYING juice and cartomizers. I look forward to the day where I don't have to deal with any of it.

I started vaping in January 2013, and I had no intention of giving up cigarettes. I bought my first ego setup just out of curiosity. Next thing I know, I wasn't smoking any cigarettes. I had somehow quit smoking by accident. Starting in June I started lowering my nicotine level. I started at 18mg, and now I'm at 12. I lowered it so slowly that I didn't even notice the change. In fact, I'm about to start being more aggressive about it, and if everything goes as planned, I will be at zero in less than 2 months.

Even at 12, I notice that I'm not using my PV as much anymore. It's been weeks since I've had a real physical craving. My desire to use it has also lowered. Maybe it's because I don't get the satisfaction I used to from it. Most smokers think that smoking cigarettes is pleasurable. But most of the "pleasure" you get from a cigarette is just relief from withdrawal symptoms. It's the same with vaping. But if you lower your nicotine level enough, you no longer go through withdrawal. Therefore, you don't get any "relief" when you do vape, so it becomes less pleasurable, and your desire to do it fades away. That is what is happening to us. I think it's a good thing.

Again, for myself and many others, this is a means to an end. I look forward to the day where I can sell all my stuff on the classifieds and walk away from all this. But I'll always support vaping. Without it, I'd still be sucking down 20 cigarettes a day, with no end in sight.

Wow, thanks everyone. Up until now I never really looked at my current situation as a positive. I guess this was the whole point after all. I invested so much into my vape collection so I'm reluctant to let go. I think I will just hang on to my order (Super-T ELA) as a last hurrah...if I can manage to not want to use that beautiful piece of equipment then I know I'm completely over it.

Its a very nice mod if nothing else it will make a expensive but awesome paper weight and a reminder of a period in your life.

KUDOS to u! As a noob and on 18mg feeling at times I need 24, reading ur story lets me know there's a light at the end of the tunnel! I was actually a little worried cuz u hear people on here talking about how they've been vaping for years and I was wondering if anyone quits completely?!?! What you have accomplished is my goal! I don't want to be strapped down to any smoking of any kind but right now, my public enemy number one is nicotine!

There's no right or wrong here. Some quit entirely; some continue long after giving up cigarettes.
I recently met a guy who has never smoked yet vapes. He said he started vaping cause it looked cool.

So true. It is all about what works for you.
I think vaping is the best thing to happen for those wanting to quit analogs. It worked for me. Nasty cigarettes are the last thing I want to consider lighting up into my face. Clothes, car and home don't stink, I breathe better, sleep better, snore way less, blood pressure is down and vaping is a fun hobby.
I worked my way down to zero nic, but it just seemed lacking. I mostly use 6mg with some 11 or 12mg now. I'm switching to an all natural, organic company who use no artificial coloring, etc. I look forward to see how their zero nic works.

Yup, definitely a positive. It's stories like yours that make me think that nicotine by itself really isn't all that addictive for everyone, and that it can be quit entirely, you just need to get rid of the additives, first.

I've noticed myself that my vaping has gone down through no input of my own even though I was obsessed in the beginning. I don't consider it a bad thing at all, though for some reason I was also shopping for a better , bigger setup.
Maybe some just assume that we need another big obsession when in reality we are just gradually getting over nic. Getting so caught up in our toys that we forget why some of us had them: to eventually get rid of them!

In any case, congrats!! :toast: This is a cause for celebration!

Hey, if you don't need the nicotine or the oral fixation anymore, good for you! Some people see vaping as a hobby or even a lifestyle but in terms of it being a method of smoking cessation, you're a success story, even if you still have a little vape every now and then. Your case also contradicts the often-heard ANTZ line, "Oh, you're just replacing one addiction with another."
