Okay first, yes, I am an old guy with old values so bear with me. Not everyone understands the "GG family" concept as I see good people referring to us as a cult or religious zealots. At my age and health, I don't get too excited over what others think. That said, on with my point.
After trying for quite some time to get a lead on a SS GGTS and even with the help of some of the most respected names on ECF, I had resigned myself that I was going to get one from the second wave. I posted a genuine sentiment about that and I got an unexpected result.
UKTarget PM'd me offering me one from his collection. He knew I had been trying to snag one from the first production run and he offered me #223. Everyone here knows what a collector UKT is so I was a little shocked but very appreciative. He not only offered it to me but at a price a lot less than he could have gotten for it in 5 minutes on the classies.
Even though I had a 2 day delay due to a family emergency, when I did send him the funds, he had it to the Post Office in about an hour. But it doesn't stop there. He also included adapters, O rings and such without even being asked. He also inspected the unit, lubricated the appropriate points and verified function at my preferred 3.7 voltage.
I had asked his advice on getting the little touches like the magnet power button upgrade. Without accepting a dime more, he installed the upgrade for me. (I have dexterity issues due to a spinal injury) When he PM'd me the Airsure tracking number, he was fretting over a possible finger print or two from the packing.
Now I have yet to receive it but it was only posted on Thursday but I had to share what kind of guy UKT is. I suspect he'll be a tad put off by me posting all this but sorry John, I had to share. It all starts with the passion Imeo puts into his functional art but as you see, there is more to the story than just the Rolls Royce of PV's.
I would like to publicly tip my hat and thank John for all of this. I would also like to say what a wonderful thing it is for me to get a chance to be a part of this group. Those that can't understand? That's their right but for old goats like me and my way of thinking, it's just their loss. Sorry for the wall of text but some things just can't be said in a few words.
