I recently got rayon wick to try on Tilemahos. Much better than cotton. No more burning cotton and a cleaner flavor. I was hesitant to try rayon. But after some research I realized that it's pretty safe. Funny thing is, I felt the same way about cotton before I tried it.

I used a 3/64 bit to make my coil with 28g kanthal for 0.5 ohms with Tilemahos/Esterigon combo and the rayon was working too good...so good that I had to keep closing the juice control. With cotton, it almost didn't matter how open the the juice control was...as long as the tank stayed pressurized.

I tried to get the juice to flow at a steady pace with rayon but even with the J.C. ever slightly open it seems that the wick was getting saturated quickly, seems like almost to the point of flooding...But it wasn't. Even with the J.C. shut off it takes a lot of puffs to notice the wick is almost dry.

I realized that my coil was probably too big and with the big coil was too much rayon. The saturated wick was shooting hot juice up the mouthpiece as well.

So I rebuilt the coil using a 3/32 bit for a smaller coil and a smaller wick. Using the same 28g kanthal wire I now have a .4 ohm coil. I really don't want my ohms to be this low. But another wrap on the coil turned out to be 0.9 ohms and my main target for a mech mod (which is the Esterigon/Tilemahos combo) is 0.5-0.7 ohms which I know is a pretty narrow range, but with the juice I make it provides good throat hit.

I'm still waiting on the Ti-wire from ESG and I hope that will do better. Perhaps the GG family has some tips on building coils using rayon.

A side note....With cotton, I was not putting wick down the channels but with rayon it seems like it doesn't matter since it wicks the juice really well.

[emoji4] Sorry, I'm not trying to turn the Tilemahos thread into a rayon thread...Just looking for pointers of using rayon inside Tilemahos.

I just did a rebuild again on Tilemahos using a 3/32 bit. I added an extra wrap of wire and it turned out to 0.5 ohms.

My first build was not snug tight, that is why it was at 0.9 ohms.

I was questioning the whole thing because when I was using the 3/64 bit to wrap...every wrap added 0.2 ohms using 28g kanthal.

My conclusion is that even though a 3/64 bit will fit into Tilemahos to make a coil. That diameter with using rayon is too big IMO. The rayon sucks up too much juice for the coil to handle using this big diameter coil....this is with using the a mech mod (such as Esterigon) with Tilemahos with an 18650 battery. I haven't tried it on a regulated mod...or VIR yet.[emoji4]

Still waiting on the Ti-wire from ESG. That will change the approach.

My way of vaping will soon improve. No more cotton, no more Kanthal, and pretty soon it will be VIR!

i am not s.society but will answer too: i am not boiling rayon or cotton. vaping since one year and feeling better and better now.
i read somewhere that stuff like this gets really dangerous when you keep inhaling after the wick is dry.
you should do the way you feel fine. imho at this time nobody can tell you if its unhealthy or not.

Sad Society, do you mean .5 ohms and .2 ohms? .05 ohms is way too low IMHO! You're going to subject yourself to some seriously bad chemicals, and your battery may have s meltdown!

Yeah sorry about that. The experienced know what I mean. But I corrected it just in case someone is new and learning...I would want them to have the right information.

Hi everyone, It seems every time I'm out of the forums I lose the party. Since when the hybrid base for the Tilemahos was released? e-Guru is out of stock and is not listed on Fluid. Is already gone from Fluid too?

BTW my Tilemahos is dead. Im suffering for this. :(

e-smokeguru is out of stock but hybrid base will be available from fluid in about 3-4 days Nandy :)

Do you boil your rayon.??

I have some here but not got round to using it yet
Still using cotton
I don't boil anything. With that said, I believe that any kind of e cig is much safer than cigarettes.

Using GG gear we are able to choose what we want. Like silica, cotton, rayon, or other types of wick.

We can have kanthal, titanium, stainless steel, or other types of wire in our atomizers.

I make make my own e-juice so I know what is going into my lungs.

Those e cigarettes sold at gas stations cannot compare to the quality of vape that GG provides. But I do think that any kind of e cig is better than a fire lit cigarette.

Check out PBusardo's YouTube video about wick.

Do whatever you feel comfortable and safe with. If you feel like it should be boiled, sterilized, or nuked before use, then do it. It is all up to opinion and debate. With the rayon and cotton I have, I just use it out of the package.

Hi Imeo, this is my first reply on GG thread. Can you please tell me if the next batch Tilemahos have the option of a 22mm base and tank, as most of my mech mods are 22mm i like my tanks to be same size as the mods. I already have 2 penelope,s so really want to add 2 tilemahos to the collection.
Thank you

a quick question guys

when tightening the screws down on to the coil wire on my tilemahos the screws tends to grip the wire and twist the coil up!!!

what am i doing wrong??
Are you using a bit, like a drill bit to wrap your coil?

I find it easiest to wrap a coil with a bit, put inside Tilemahos with the bit still in place and tighten screws.

Then you can remove extra lead wire off the end of screws and take out the bit. From there you can put in the wick.

Any other way I think would be complicated. Such as having wire wrapped around wick before putting in Tilemahos...that's not my style.

I use a drill bit for perfect coil structure. It also helps to keep the coil in place when lining it into Tilemahos.

You can also wrap the wire the opposite way around the screw preventing it from pulling it tighter. Just like on a rda
