i'm not sure if this is the same problem i'm having. i am using the regular metal body though. every time i build my penny v4 it's good for the first couple hits and then it starts tasting weird and getting dry hits. there is also a weird harsh taste on the exhale. i can especially feel it if i exhale through my nose. i've tried building it with a regular coil, parallel coil, twisted, and it happens no matter what. i have also tried different wicking setups but no luck there either. is anyone else having similar problems?
Penny has smaller room between body and mouthpiece and also shallow channels (but wider). Solution is very simple Jes. Just cut wick totally flash to the channels (dont put wick on channels at all)

It is a simple process, I used the same polishing compound / cream that I use to polish the stainless steel parts.

Just put some polishing cream on a rag or microfiber cloth, then polish the clear tank as if it was a stainless steel tank, I did it by hand, turning the tank with one hand while holding the microfiber cloth with the other hand, it takes like 20 minutes.

Same with the internal of the tank, Insert one finger covered with the microfiber cloth and polishing cream, and with the other hand turn the tank.

Some friends used toothpaste instead the polishing cream.
Also this procedure (with toothpaste) makes clear tank totally clean, like a glass. Thats what Vasilis told me the other day. Is Vasilis right Ariel?

I remember imeo said one day that he didn't want to make clear tank for penelope because it makes thick juice harder to wick. I don't remember if it was penny 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 :D. But he did it anyway because of many requests. Maybe sellers should put a warning on the item that it might not perform well with thick juices.

Nothing wrong about that.

So if I understand well, polishing the plastic inside the tank will make the surface smoother and reduce the friction ... correct?
I'll try the toothpaste with a brush ... peny is definitly too tight for my fingers (no pun intended ... promise).

That's the theory, I think it could help, but I haven't tried it on the Penelope v4 Clear Tank because I haven't received it yet.

:)

Been a while since I was on, but I wanted to stop by and post pics of a coil I have been using with the T1 and now with the T2. Lots of flavor, fairly easy after you make it a few times, and lots of clouds. It's a Vertical Dual that draws air THROUGH the coil instead of around it. I had to remove the long post from the negative side to mount, but its an easy modification (unscrew and store safely).

The coil is Dual 28g, 7 wraps at .6 Ohms. I use a jig made from a drill bit that fits snugly into the air hole and I coil it right on the atomizer.

Coil made ready to test.

Reassembled to test for hot spots.

Disassembled to insert wick. You can do this while it is assembled, but this is much easier.
Insert wick between coil and positive post.

Fold one leg around the bottom of the chamber, make sure it stays in contact with the coil. Do Not pack cotton in, keep it as loose as you can for good juice flow.

Fold other leg around, make sure it comes high enough to cover wick channels.

Gives great flavor and clouds as well as lung hit air flow.

Soul, I carefully unscrewed the post using needle nose pliers. Mine are dipped in rubber so no marks, but regardless, the post is screwed in so removal isn't complicated. And the wire retaining screw uses the same thread pitch.

Thanks that is what I thought as well. I've been trying carefully with my regular pliers but it seems it is screwed in quite well.

You want it screwed in pretty tight, because when it's not it might come apart when removing the base from the deck.
