how many different possible configurations are there with the GGT? also i saw somewhere that you could configure it to hold some things like an extra atty and small juice bottle. does anyone have a picture of this?

The GGT can be a GG nano (main body only), GG Grant (main body + 1 extension), and full size GGT (main body + both extensions). The GGTS is the model that has a storage area because the button can be relocated. The GGT button is always on the main body section.
GGT = GG Transformer
GGTS = GG Telescopic
GGT = GG Transformer
GGTS = GG Telescopic

The old design had the smaller button that didn't lock. The new button is larger and locks. He had to re do his design to fit that in. You will love your transformer. It has options for all sizes of batteries. I do love mine. I mostly just use it at the Grant size because I am stuck on 6V. You will be very well pleased no matter which battery or volt you prefer.
and wait till you try the AFS my friend... holy cow... look at all the vapor and flavor... amazed is the only word I can find to describe this experience.
Get the 18650 battery also... You will need a good long lasting battery to keep up with the AFS's convenience. But being able to use just about any battery is cool. If you have many around.

Yes, that was a prototype design a long while ago now.
The new trans is much simpler in design, but accomodates all the batteries and has a locking button.
The GGTS is on hold.
As to the new GGS, I don't know exactly what it is cos no-one has seen it yet.
