GGTS - lock for the lock?

Anyone managed to find something that would serve to easily lock the knurled ring on the switch into the out position? I was thinking some sort of plastic (nylon, maybe?) retention clip like the one below. Basically, it would have just enough tension to clip over the threading on the button shaft between the mod and the extended knurled ring.

Open to other suggestions, of course, but I've had it gradually unlock itself and fire on me, and I end up with a mysterious toasted atty or a REALLY hot pocket and would like to more firmly secure the button lock when I'm going to stow & carry it.

What you pictured above would destroy your threads so I suggest you don't try it. Best way to secure the GGTS is lock your button tight and unscrew a bit the telescope that way the battery cannot make contact. This way it's impossible to fire.

maybe a bad example... I thought that one was plastic, but might be metal. I was thinking vinyl or something that wouldn't mark up the threads. Just a thought.

But erich if you unscrew even slightly the telescope so it does not contact the battery on both poles it is impossible to fire.

Yikes Erich - don't fiddle with the button - unscrew the telescope - that should always be done anytime you are not vaping anyway whether in pocket or not.

If you absolutely must put something in the device to prevent it firing, why not slot a plastic disc on top of the battery?

I didnt understand the issue with the button Erik. You mean that when you lock the button you unscrew it at the same time from the main body?

I understand what the OP means and nope,it wont work as the threads are too fine...it would just slip...but you lose nothing trying,a plastic circlip wouldnt break anything;
it could lead to the head of the switch to unscrew itself though.

Well, it does that if I twist it hard, but that's not what I mean. It's just that the lock ring can loosen over time. I don't think I have magic pockets... it could be turned with the tip of a feather. Given the light resistance and short throw of the button, it doesn't take much movement before the button is capable of firing. Not at all saying that these are drawbacks... the button's operation is perfection and demonstrates amazing precision, but having had it fire unintentionally on multiple occasions, I was wondering about an additional safeguard. It sounds like the consensus is extending the telescope, so I'll go with that.

Lol hell yeah, mine was bubbling a UFS full of Hype From Ave for ten minutes in my bag in class. Somebody said it smelled like burnt plastic and peaches, so I started whistling and calmly walked out.

I dont screw hard the button on the engraved tube and I dont screw hard the head of the button with its moving pin. I leave them tight but not very tight so people can open it easy. But if you screw well the button on the tube and the pin on the head then you can screw with more power the locking nut and it will not get unscrewed at all erich

Seriously though, it quite literally melted a drip tip as well. Stretched it out like those Coke bottles you see in Mexico trying to get it out.
