So my buddy will be deployed in july on his birthday and I was thinking of getting him a going away/birthday gift? What are you allowed to bring? And any recommendations? I was thinking maybe a sweet AR mod and tank setup or some rebuildable stuff.

What a nice friend you are!:toast:

look for ejuice in bulk size if it is available.
Or maybe do some sample sizes in different flavors.
I would think something like the mvp2 because of long battery life.that way he doesnt have to charge all the time.
not sure how external batteries will hold up in certain temps

china buye has some cheap tanks called mini mt3... if you buy 3 they are less than $4 a piece. I have 20.
the stock coils arent so good, i mean they work.. but i buy the protank universal coils from 101 vapes and replace them with those. although lately i've been doing some rebuilds for them with great success.

they are by far the best tanks i've used to date. just wish they made glass. the drip tip doesnt come off so no need to worry about losing it.

I think i good rda would be nice, maybe an igo L and a small bag for rebuild stuff. cotton, kanthal, screwdrivers, ohm meter tweezers and small scissors.
Mini MT3 1.6ml Detachable Bottom Heating Coil Clear Atomizer - Black
.

I know guys need shower shoes... like cheap flip flops.
and travel sized toiletries... so they don't have to lug around big bottles.
shampoo, deodarant, disposable razors, body wash, toothbrushes
entertainment
cards with half naked women, dominoes,
magazines of cars, motorcycles, tatoos and military are all good to send.

and dont forget hot sauce.. mild medium hot and suicide.
pick ones with funny names.

hard candies, things that wont melt.

that's all i can think of right now. it's a start.
I use to pack up things like the above and stuff them in shoe boxes and mail to my husband .

he liked the small bottles and used candy as money to trade for things.
hot sauce was a biggie for deployment. made boring bland meals fun.

probablly more than you were looking for..
sucks to have to be deployed on your friggin bday!

Ok now that I have more time I can help you out more. As an Afghanistan vet, I have a little knowledge on the do's/dont's. I would make sure anything you get him is easy maintanance, the last thing he wants is for his setup to go down and he can't get his nic.

I would say go cheap because it will get used and abused, probably dropped and also passed around like a french ...... Id stick with a mech or two (clones). Also, backups. A few ego Batts and chargers with US and EU plugs. A large supply of vapable liquid would help, but I am sure he will be taking his own. Maybe some cheapo clearos along with a couple RDAs and RBAs and a couple hundred feet of kanthal and a bag of cotton balls. Maybe get him a MicroPuck as well to make wrapping easier for him.

Not much isn't allowed, just no alcohol, pron, or illicit substances. Also send him some baby wipes, those are a MUST when the toilet paper is literally filled with sand from the sandstorms.

As a former marine that's also an Afghanistan vet I agree with mvroman. Cheap, durable and low maintenance.

I was already into rebuildables, mechs and high wattage vaping by the time I deployed. I left with about 3-4 mechs, a vamo, a lavatube, 10-15 bottom coil tanks, 3 rebuildables, 10 batteries, 2 chargers and 12 256ml bottles.

You would think that's perfect right. Well dirt / sand was destroying my mech threads, tanks, charger etc. to death. After two months my wife sent me 3 non-vv 1300 mah ego batteries and a box of 50 or so cartomizers. I ended up using those for the remaining 6 months. It was much easier.

Reo grand and rm2, just awesomeness...

Hmmm... ^^^ That would be indestructible. And with an RM2 (Reomizer) and some wire and wick, if he can build the crappiest of coils even the thing will just work. Hell he wouldn't even need the wick probably - gotta be some usable cotton around some place? An exceptionally low maintenance situation. He would still need batteries and a charger to go with.

The down side - that's expensive gear. He would only need a "one" in this case - but if he lost it...

Wow, this thread is back! I was just thinking about this thread this morning, how strange.

Really think what you are doing is just fantastic, if you need any help with it shoot me a PM as I'd be glad to jump in. Not suggesting you need help in any way or trying to jump on your bandwagon, just think what you're doing is tops and would happily do what I could.

Glad to see this is still moving along!
