Glass Bottle / Lid - seal question

hi all, I bought some amber Boston type bottles to freeze Nic base and decided I would sterilize the bottles with boiling water. The caps with these bottles are a while plastic cap with a paper type inner seal. I washed the caps in hot soapy water and did not remove the inner seals which I guess was a mistake. They kind of curled and swelled as the underneath section of these cap seals are a paper base. Can anyone recommend a suitable material that I can now use between the caps and the glass bottle for freezing?
