I see a lot of people going with glass / pyrex tanks over plastic. I am curious as to the real benifits of something like this over what I am currently using the ViVi Nova.

Certain juices like cinnamon and citrus can cause the plastic to crack and o-rings to melt. People who use those type juices usually opt for the polypro or glass. There is a thread about it on here somewhere.
Thanks for the quick and easy explainations! I kept seeing cinnamon and citrus mentioned when glass / pyrex was refered to but wanted to make sure I understood correctly.
And has to do with the property of the plastics. Some people freak out and think it's dangerous to vape those juices. Which is not the case.
The usual tank killers won't affect Pyrex or Polypropylene plastic, but they do effect polycarbonate plastics.

Pyrex is also recommend for those vapors who believe plastic can impart a "plastic taste" to their juices.

Thanks Baditude! It was actually some of the comments in one of the reviews you posted that lead me to ask the question.
Glass it the safest most non-reactive tank material. Wish that all tanks were made of it. It does not react or melt from just about anything but heat. Unlike plastic and metal it does not out gas or impart anything on contact or if heated. Even SS will sometimes let go of some chromium etc. Don't even get me started on aluminum. PET plastic is the least offensive of the plastics but even that will react to some things.
I have made requests for a glass tank for the Vivi's on a couple of sites. At IBT and Got vapes etc.. The more people who suggest that the better the chance we get one. I love the Vivi but hate the aluminum an plastic tanks. Their plastic is among the best but as some have stated Cinnamon and citrus are hell. For me it was TFA Rootbeer.
I would love a glass tank for a vivi nova. I am sure it will come out eventually. Would be an excellent system.
What tank is it? You could try contacting OCD, the glass specialist at IBTanked. He has been collecting various glass stock to replace plastic tubes of several tank manufacturers and RBA tanks.

I use tanks from Welcome to Valley View Vapes - Your Home for Quality Inexpensive Tanks and Vaping Supplies. I use both the polyrpo and the pyrex.
On the subject of vivi nova glass tanks:
Don't hold your breath. In order to cut the threads you would need a fairly expensive ENC machine...the cost for the machine would likely outweigh the want/need for glass nova tanks....the only company that has the money would be vision themselves to make it happen...and being that they probably make a ton already on aluminum tubes and replacement clear plastic.

Glass is always "stronger" than plastic, better heating, heats evenly. It's the #1 choice in tanks that goldfish prefer to swim in over plastic !!!
