5. I guess that depends on what you plan on towing. I had a subaru outback wagon. Thing was a beast. AWD and can tow with extra room in the back. Only problem with subarus is that they need to be fixed often when they get high mileage. Mine was getting ~20mpg, (which is low for a subaru) because of the high mileage and on going oil leaks. If I remember right, it was going on 280,000 miles and had a rear main seal leak, which wasn't worth fixing so we just kept adding oil. You can get 24mpg on it if the car is in good shape. I sold it and bought an accord so I could save on gas and not risk having a dead car with all those miles and no job to replace it. I didn't really need a wagon anymore anyway. I bought it because I had two big dogs and a baby at the time. Both dogs have since passed from old age and my baby is not a baby anymore. The sedan suits me just fine now.

out of place question.

great gas millage, and a tow hitch.
small suv, crossover, or sedan
low cost.

better way to ask:

whats the cheapest high MPG vehicle with a tow hitch?

It would be for towing sound and stage equipment. doenst need to tow much weight, like a car or anything.

A subaru is what i was thinking. a wagon to store extra stuffs, and safe as a family car.

Im gonna look at crossovers, like the vibe and forrester. although i think they will be out of my price range.
