GMO, awesome job sir. I have a question though, how are you feeling about your progress?

Thanks for the question, artv61. I appreciate the opportunity to answer it!

.....On March 1, I was a 70 YO , 230# man who had just had his left leg amputated above the knee. Today, I'm a 70 YO, 200# man whose life has changed to an unbelievable extent.
.....I've had 3 operations, a bout of intestinal bleeding, two weeks in a "nursing home" to recover (what a joke!!), and two 2week sessions in the Rehab Hospital. The 40 YO Sherman would have given up a long time ago and wallowed in self-pity.. Not the 70 YO Sherman.
.....I have a positive mental attitude about my health and my business. My Rehab Doctor calls me the Shermanator because of my attitude and my work ethic. No one works longer and harder than I do.

By Thanksgiving, I expect to be walking at least a mile a day with my new leg and a walker or crutches. I'm the only person who can get me down or discouraged and I will not allow that to happen!! Many negative things happen around me but I cannot allow them to affect me.

One of the most positive influences in my life is this thread and I'm very grateful to you all for that !!

Sherman

Good for you Tig....It's also very healthy to get out (like I am one to talk, since I only go out a few times/mo.)...That is a great thing for you to be doing.....find something that interests you to focus on...and stick with it.....:)

3: For my first visit it is the most alive/hot church I have ever seen. Very active in the community and that appeals to me. tumbleweed.gif

OMG.....SHERMANATOR...I love it..:)....I can't believe your attitude....You are so amazing at what you have accomplished in such a short time....You are so right about how younger people would have given up and wallowed in self pity...and what would that get you????More need for more pity...that's all.....I am happy you think that we helped you recover...but it was ALL YOU.....:toast:

GMO,
Your words bring tears to my eyes, I am in such awe of your inspiration. My hubby (70+) has had a few trying years with the C word. After chemo and surgery, in December he was a YEAR cancer free and we are waiting for his results for 1 1/2 year test. He is the love of my life and he took it all like a trooper. Thank you for your inspiration and we all are going to make it through this. Thank you for sharing. Shermanator sounds like a good name for you. Hugs
