Really either one will work. Ideally you dont want to be using hot glue unless you have to. Should also be used sparingly , I see people encasing there electronics in glue and epoxy. One if something does break it is pretty hard to get too after that. Two most electronics need to breath or they can build up damaging heat.

thanks for the replies...here is the tut on the mod i want to build. it says epoxy/glue gun and epoxy looked expensive so i went with glue gun as i already have $100 in parts so far, trying to conserve money :)
Expensive?

Super Strong Quick Drying Epoxy

Probably a better choice, brand name.

1 Oz. Plastic Fusion® Epoxy by Super Glue

I would not use hot melt to hold the atty connector, it will get hot and is not too good with e-liquid. Should be fine for the switch. I tack in my switches with hot melt, but I don't use a gun. I just heat a stick with a lighter and dab it on.

I've gone back to hot glue lately. It is so much easier to fix box mods gone bad. I do use some hard glue for initial setup.

I had such a hard time with the big horn switches getting liquid in em and then drying. I now encase the back of the switches with hot glue for a liquid resistant encasing.

OP: If your in Florida just go to Walmart or any place and get a regular hot glue gun. Get a small gun we are working with small spaces and parts here.

Picked up some of the new Gorilla Glue Super Glue that's made to be "Impact Resistant". This stuff is serious. I tried to get out a faulty LED on a recent build and couldn't. I tried to twist the connector out to get at the LED better and couldn't without fear of breaking the box. Oh well...no LED on that build...LOL.

Helpful Hint for this situation: Break off the pins of the bad one and superglue a replacement LED behind the original, it will glow right through and look cool as well.

LOL...it's the white box. You saw it at the meet-up. Zero room even for an LED. Do need some kind of micro or precision soldering iron, though.

What's CA? Contact adhesive? I've never seen CA as an abbreviation....

If you're trying to test it for use with e-liquid, you'll want to keep re-wetting it, after all, in your mod it's not just going to get wet once, it'll be constant... For me, hot glue lasted about 2 days, JBKwik lasts 2~3 weeks, with constant exposure, in real world testing....

Note on removing components with acetone: Be Careful! Acetone will melt ABS plastics, like batt boxes.... If you're using it to remove a component, then I would recommend using a q-tip and being careful not to get much on your box, and then, wipe the box down anywhere the acetone touched it with a damp q-tip, or, even better, a q-tip dampened with isopropyl alcohol... :2c:
