New user here but have been vaping on the Go Go and KR808D-1 types for a few weeks now... By the way vaping is the best decision I ever made because smoking was just sucking the life out of me!

Anyways I have tried the boiling technique to clean carts (5 minutes in boiling water, then drain on paper towel 24 hours). Out of 4 attempts only one seemed to work. Either I'm doing something wrong or the go carts are just not durable.... I have seen the method of using straws but that seems ridiculous to me.

Before I break out the vodka... (another approach I have heard about) I wanted to know if anyone knows a perfect method to re-use go carts, and how many times would that work for 1 cart?

Or should I just stick with re-filling several times, and not even bother cleaning?

Thanks!

Hmm... If you're just using the same (or complimentary) flavor to refill a cart, then yes, you can just keep refilling it til it vapes like crap. Then I'd just boil it for 15 minutes... Or place it in a bowl with hot water running into it for a bit, pull it out and hold it under running water with a pair of pliers. Hold it under said running water one end at a time, blow the water out of it, and then place in sealed container with a bit of rice, or thread up on towel to dry. 24 hours should vape semi-new. If... That don't work then I've no freakin idea, bud!

Some people succeed at cleaning (or at least have partial success) and some don't and some don't care (I am the latter). The problem is the stuffing can get compressed, they can be hard to dry (some bake them for hours in a low temp over like 200 degrees or lower)

What I do - if it 's a prefill and I hate it, it goes in the "when h*ll freezes over" bag and if that ever happens, I will try to clean them. If it's a prefill I like or I have filled a blank with a suitable pretested juice I like, then I just keep it damp with the same or compatible flavors until its performance is too degraded, and then I throw it in the bag and start a new one. And I never ever put an untested juice in a carto. Only juices I like earn cartos. And now, since it seems to give me better carto life, I only use juices with 20% or less VG and I avoid any juice that seems to drop a lot of flavoring sediment (just clogs a carto and attys too)

But if you want to see a bunch of cleaning methods got to Google and try any of these searches (ignore the word Code)

Code:
site:www.e-cigarette-forum.com clean carto

or

site:www.e-cigarette-forum.com clean cartomizer

(or you can try substituting wash for clean)

There's probably nothing wrong with what your doing but I doubt if it would dry in 24 hours. These things are huge and really thick. I don't use alcohol but I do the reverse taryn spin and let them sit outside or by a window for at least 3-4 days.

I got this-

Cartomizer/Attomizer Cleaning Kit - With 10ml Control Syringe, Luer-lock compatible w/cleaning tubes and instructions

You'll probably get the best results though with the link I posted where you actually remove the filling to dry it.

I wouldn't attempt this with the regular boge cartos- I just throw them away. But the big cartos were made to be cleaned.

The clear dual coil cartos are very easy to clean because the outside plastic tubing comes off pretty easily. Gently unroll the batting. You can clean it with hot water and dab it with a paper towel and be reusing it in about 5 minutes.

Thanks everyone... and I agree only juices I like should earn cartos... The problem is that I am new to vaping and of course went out to multiple sites making orders of juice...I have about 25 flavors haha.... Some are better than others of course but I hope in a few months or even weeks I'll narrow my favorites down.

By the way, boiling kr808d-1 type carts seems to work much better. It must be the sheer size of the go go carts that make it difficult. Thanks for the tips and links, and I may try the rice method also!

The hardest part is getting them dry enough.

I put the cartos in a pill bottle with tissues stuffed in the end. I put them in a draw-string bag and do the spin. Over and over. Then let them sit. Sometimes they're OK, if they're not, I throw them away. I usually test just with my atomizer. The bigger ones- I've had better luck with. Like I said, they're meant to be cleaned.

The go go carts are a bit more expensive... So maybe I'll try that technique with the two straws on a rainy day. Need to go to McDonalds to collect parts lol.

I got that new syringe kit in the mail today and cleaned a couple so we'll see how it goes.

I took one echo-e carto apart (I think they're the same as the go-go) but haven't been brave enough to try to put it back together. I need a coffee stir.

I did clean one EMDCC last week and that one seems OK. I just did it with very hot water and let dry.
