Been using this e-cig for a couple of months now, and have had nothing but problems with these things. I’ve gone through 4 batteries now and although I admit I am a little hard on them, the quality and durability of these things are a 1 on a scale to 10. I have found a couple problems with these e-cigs that need to be corrected by the manufacturer which led to the death of my batteries.
Problem 1- threading depth of cartomizer and charger not consistent, this is what killed my first battery. I opened the package and screwed on a carto all the way down like any person would, I didn’t death grip it, just screwed it down all the way until it was seated against the battery. This resulted in the center post getting squished and destroying the o-ring, upon inspection I have found that some cartos are deeper than others.
Problem 2- horribly designed o-ring, this little thing found between the battery center post and housing is the cheapest piece of crap I’ve ever seen. Its paper thin, and over time they suck up any oil and vapor from the juice, leading them to completely deter ate, without the o-ring juice leaks into the battery, which could cause a short.
Problem 3- this problem was the most common in my batteries and once I completely took apart my 3rd battery I found that this could lead to a massive safety hazard for the battery. what happens is once you accidently drop the battery on any hard surface, it will start to rattle, it's mildly annoying and doesn’t change battery performance at first, however as the battery rattles it will start to not hold a charge or ignite the carto properly, or in my case get stuck on the on position and cause the battery to overheat (had to throw it in water cause it was getting so hot).
Once I took it apart I found the problem, battery sits inside the cylinder and is connected to the small circuit board from wires on the top and bottom of the battery. the battery is then hot glued to the side of the cylinder wall with one little dab of hot glue, which is what fails when the unit is dropped, since hot glue doesn’t really stick very well to slick metal surfaces. this wouldn’t be a problem if it wasn’t for the fact that the manufacturer saved every penny with this thing and made absolutely no slack at all with the wire coming off the battery, once the mounting glue comes off and it starts to rattle, the wires are the only thing holding the batter in the air, which over time fail as well from the weight. The serious problem with that is if both wires come off and touch the side of the metal housing, the battery will ground itself out and possibly overheat, could even explode.
I’m done with this e-cig, good concept, horrible quality assurance.
