Hi all, I just got my Go-Go for Christmas. So far I've had some problems with it. The cartomizers that came with them have been pretty bad. I filled them correctly, but the first 2 constantly tasted burnt even when completely full. My kit came with 2 batteries, one battery has a crooked connector on the battery end. When I use the cartomizer and the drip tip it lookes like a leaning tower :-( My other battery appears to be bad, after a full charge it lasts about 3 puffs then dead.

Could I be doing something wrong here, or did I get a bad kit?

btw I got mine from discount vapors.

Anyone else having problems with the new dual coil cartos cracking? I hope they start making them with regular metal casing because they do work very good before they crack.

I think Eric is working on getting replacement tubes for them. They do crack easily so I have been turning them over when they start to leak at the bottom. Just remove the tube, turn it upside down and replace. That will get you some more miles out of them. These things are awesome!

I did the turn around on one of them and it worked for a little longer. I've already ruined three out of five in a short time so I will be waiting for a better casing before I try more. The regular Go-cartos work very good for me and last a long time so I'm happy with them.:2cool:

I can't speak to the battery issue but I recently became a gogo owner and I did have a problem with the burnt taste and also thought I had filled them "correctly" but on my most recent one I filled it using a syringe to get all the way to the bottom and then topped off with some dripping and then I let it sit overnight and I am not getting a burnt taste with this one but shoot I'm only on my fourth carto so I don't have that much experience to back that up but it might be something to try.

I've found that filling and waiting overnight gives me the best Go-cart performance (and Elite cartos as well).

I have 3 Go-carts and 3 Elite cartos in rotation. As soon as one needs topping off I do so with a syringe. I then cap the newly topped off carto, put it at the back of the line, and pick up the carto that I topped off a day or two previously. I'm always using a completely filled carto that's been sitting around for at least a full day, most of the time two.

When I first started vaping I thought refilling using a syringe seemed way too ... psycho.

Silly rabbit.

It's the only way to go.

On some occasions the filler is not pushed all the way down to the base of the carto at the factory. The filler needs to reach the coil which is at the bottom of the carto to properly wick. The solution , I've found is to use a large McDonald's milkshake straw to gently push the filler down some in the carto. I gently tap the carto on a table top with the straw inserted and light pressure at the top of the straw with my finger. What you want is to slide the whole filler assembly down the carto without compressing the filler material which would cause a bind in the filler and restrict the flow of juice. Once the filler reaches the coil and is well saturated with the juice then the carto will work properly without the burning. If the filler does bind it's not critical as when the filler is full of juice it tends to expand back into shape if left to sit overnight. I do believe that is the situation you are having.

For some reason Bob, I can't click the "like" in your post so I'll just respond. You're absolutely right about letting the carto sit for a while before using. The longer the better. When the cartomizers with clear tubes first came out, someone posted pictures of the juice being filled in one. The common thought at the time was for one to fill a carto until drops came out the bottom and then you had a full carto. The clear tube showed that the juice did not initially distribute itself evenly throughout the carto before dripping out the bottom and that there were dry spots spread throughout the carto. When one let the carto sit for a while, capillary action distributed the juice evenly throughout the filler and once that was achieved proper wicking was obtained.

Hi mohawkx,

I finally found "The Straw" (actually txtumbleweed sent some to me) so I'm finally ready to deconstruct, dry burn, and reassemble a Go-cart. Since I've been Go-going since February I obviously have a lot of Go-carts to experiment with. Thanks to your Go-cart tutorial I should have enough resuscitated Go-carts to last me for quite awhile.

The process really works pretty good. Just be sure to have the inner filler about 1/16th inch lower than the outer filler when you rewarap and insert so that the inner filler touches the coil. The inner filler acts as a juice highway and absorbs juice from the outer filler, then directs it to the coil. Also make sure your used cartos soak in a bowl of water overnight to loosen the crusty old juice so the dirty filler comes out of the tube easy without sticking to the centertube and pulling it out. Needle nose plyers are your friend in this process. Good luck and Happy New Year. :D

... and working Great!

Thanks to mohawkx for the instructions and txtumbleweed for The Straws. I resuscitated five G-carts in very little time. And they vape like new.

I've got a big baggie filled with old Go-carts I've piled up since February. If I do a couple of 'em per day ... I'll be Go-going on used cartos for the rest of the year. Now if I can just find an even smaller straw for The Elite cartos my vaping dollars will only be spent on e-liquid.

Happy New Year Everybody ... from a very happy cheap guy.

The money mounts up fast, Bob. I do twenty at a time and save 35.00 plus shipping costs. I've got some that have been rebuilt 4 times now. Really glad you got the process down pat. It only gets easier. :)

I used to get all my accessories from www.go-gousa.com but the store seems to be out of business. Any ideas where i can get more of the "punched" cartomizers to use with the tank mod?

I've been using my original one for almost two months now with no maintenance. All I do is top off the tank and charge my battery. After a few years of wasting money on different products, this is my perfect setup.
