Hello forum noob here, for the last 13 years I have been a 2 -3 can a day dip user. I am looking to vaping to get me off this disgusting habit. The question I have for you all is, has anyone gone from dip to vapeing? Is it the same physical effects? I feel if it doesn't give the same mental effects of using the dip then I'll go back to the disgusting habit. I look forward to learning more about the vaping world

Welcome to the Forum!

You won't find many on the forum that made the switch from dipping to vaping but there are a few! I am one of them!

I wasn't dipping anywhere near as much as you were though! 2-3 cans a day is a bunch!! Haha, I was dipping about 2-3 a week.

As far as physical effects go here is my opinion so far.. Just so you know I'm relatively new also so I'm no pro.

I was dipping Grizzly Wintergreen which has a relatively high nic content compared to some other dips. So when I order my eLiquid I stay in the 12 or 16 area. I normally use 12 when I'm able to vape all day such as weekends, and use 16 when I'm working and can't vape throughout the day. Since I wasn't a smoker I never inhaled anything so I was a little concerned I wouldn't get the nic effect I was looking for. But I learned through this forum that the nic from vaping is absorbed through your mouth and sinus membraines. I usually inhale and hold for a few seconds before slowly exhaling through my nose. With a higher nic content you can really feel it!

I will say it is a different sensation than dipping. I do miss the stinging sensation my pouches would give me, although I don't miss it enough to go back to spitting. Actually I've traded that sensation for just a little bit of throat hit, seems to do the trick for me.

Also, dip seemed to give me a longer buzz cause its constantly in your mouth therefore constantly releasing nic into your system. But that's the good thing about vaping you can just vape away however often you feel like!

If you're spending all that money on dip I would just get you a good starter kit and give it a go. I highly recommend it.. It seems to be working for me so far (going on a month). Plus, it's way more fun.. Collecting diff batteries and tanks, and flavors.. The combinations are endless.

Hopefully this helps with your question!

Thank you so much Dnrexy that's exactly what I was looking for! Since I use a lot I was looking at starting out with a MVP2 would this be a good starter kit or should I start smaller. I was never a smoker as well so you answered a question I didn't even ask. Thank you!

Hey Noob! I forget the exact number but; I dipped and smoked simultaneously for about 25 years. During my heaviest usage phase I was dipping about 1-1.5 cans of Copenhagen a day. Near the end I was down to a can of, whatever cheap, fine-cut every two days. IMO you will need to start with the highest nic concentration you can find in a tolerable juice. Most of the fan favorites top out around 24mg and many only go up to 18mg. I have been vaping for three years and 18mg still doesn't cut it. I started vaping 40mg juice and my comfortable range now is 32mg-36mg. Occasionally I'll dip (NPI) down to 24mg for a favorite flavor. 24mg is pretty light though. I keep a bottle of 32mg PG on-hand to spike any really good 18mg (and sometimes 24mg) juices I come across. As far as physical effects. It is, of course, way different but it can be as satisfying. Especially if you work where you can vape at-will or are a competent stealth vaper. You can maintain your nic level throughout the day in a similar manner as having a dip in.

Hope that made some sense. Good luck and it can be done!

I dipped and smoked for 30 years, often I would quit the coffin nails and just dip. at one point I was using a tin a day of Copenhagen. At first when I started to vape, I missed the flavor of Copenhagen badly. It was tough going for a couple weeks as I moved to vaping. I tried all kinds of tobacco flavors, they all sucked balls in my opinion. A buddy of mine gave me a bottle of Spacejam Eclipse to try. It tasted like a combination of Cavendish pipe tobacco and something weirdly creamy. At first, I really didn't like it, but I vaped a few tanks and grew to like it. If you are dipping 2 cans a day, better go with a higher nic level, say 24 mg/ml and go from there. My 2 cents anyway...

I love having habits so I started vaping even tho I dipped Cope for 30 years.
I found that within one week of doing both I was getting too much nic and since I found vaping more enjoyable and stopping dipping happend by accident.
That was one year ago.

A few times I missed the sensation in my lip but nothing too bad.
I did buy a can about 5 months ago when I was going to a bar and didn't want to vape in there and it almost made me loose my liquor.
I went to the car and got my mod.

I pretty much chain vape 24mg juice now, but I can't see me going back to Cope for any reason now.

Makes perfect sense I was wondering what nic level to use I use Skoal long cut as my main dip but lately dropped to longhorn cuz it's cheaper.

I haven't had it in a loooong time but; my goto juice when I started out was Wowboy from Vapor 4 Life. It has a good flavor, that I can't really describe, a menthol like (if you've ever smoked a menthol) chest hit without the menthol taste. Another recommendation would be J $. It's got a nasty (in a good way) bite and a real earthy taste to it that a dipper can apperciate. Wowboy is available in 36mg and J $ 32mg (36mg if you buy it in-store).

That's exactly what I want to achieve I've grown to hate this disgusting habit I have. Vaping is so much cleaner and healthier

If you're married, that's your wife talking. :p I hated smoking for a long time but I never, ever, hated dipping. That stuff gets in your bones. Sooooo delicious... If vaping was banned today I could see myself, easily, lapsing to dip before I ever even thought about a smoke.

36 Mg/ml ejuice is the equivalent of unfiltered Camels or Pall Mall's. Whew, even back when I smoked those were some strong things!
.
Which is nothing compared to dip (not trying to start a pissing match). Like DasFriek said above, dip will get you sick right quick from it's very efficient and potent nicotine delivery.

I smoked for about 40 years before deciding enough was enough and switched to dip. I was a can-a-day guy for around 4 years before I found Vaping... I started on 24 mg and as I have a tendency to chain vape I found it was too much...went down to 18 after the first couple weeks and after a while I hit 12mg then 9mg...I bounce back and forth from 9 to 12 depending on my mood ~lol~

Your results will vary depending on how heavy you hit the vapes... for me 9-10mg is about perfect most days with a shot of 12 now and then

The actual switch to vaping was easy for me. Hope it is for you as well.
