Going from eGO to KR808

So I ordered the KR808 kit after reading that the voltage was a true 3.7 device, rather than the lower 3.1ish on the 510s. I also like the idea of an auto batt. But I'm having no luck getting any vapor out of this thing. I refilled some blank cartos with a strong VG juice and I get an ok TH, but the taste and vapor just aren't there like I was expecting. I also tried an adapter with the 808 batt to 510 atty/cart. It seems like the adapter keeps the atty from firing correctly - miniscule TH or vapor. Does anyone have any hints as to what I may be doing wrong or if I could try something differently? So many people seem to love the 808; I really wanted to.

Is it possible that you have overfilled your cartos? They produce super weak vapor when you have overfilled. Do you hear any gurglig? As for your adapter is the atty firing at all? If not, is the adapter adjustable? Could it not be making a connection ?

I'm not hearing any gurgling, but I suppose it's possible I've overfilled. I'll give it a bit of a spin and see if there's any improvement.

If you're going to the 808 you'll be disappointed. The Ego hits harder. Hands down.

Different tools different jobs as someone said in another thread about this very thing. I for one missed the 3.7 when I went to my ego.... Loved that battery life though.

You must use the Ultra / Premium 808 cartos or else the 808 is useless for vapor. the regular kanger cartos suck.

Have you tried the LR atties on the eGo? It's not always about the voltage.

Thanks for the link Ashora; I'm going to give these a try. I love the eGo, but when I'm out I want something a little smaller and less conspicuous. Not fooling with carts is a plus as well.

I use the coolcarts from vapor4life and absolutely love them. I have compared them to several other generic 808 cartos and I can't stand anything else. They also hold more juice. I think they have 22% off everything right now as well. Only til the end of today I believe.

I've had decent luck with the V4L cartos, both their Wow and Cool carts. Use the Wow for best hit. Then again, I've also had good luck on an 808 with whatever cartos EM out of China sells -- the black jobs with glued-in tips. I get respectable vapor with an 80% PG/20% VG mix.

Used them on standard, XL, and G400 batteries -- good vapor and TH in all cases. The only thing, consistent, is to make sure the cartos are filled pretty well -- I use the condom method -- then blow through them onto a tissue to clear excess liquid, wipe the battery contacts before screwing them onto the battery.

I love the Turbo Cartos from vapornine, they work well on the 808.

I tried KR808 cartos just to see what they were all about. They didn't quite do it for me compared to my 510 attys, however one bonus is if you pop the mouthpiece out there is a silicone/rubber type o-ring/seal thingie beneath it which fits perfectly over a standard syringe without needle. This one piece makes a perfect seal for flush cleaning my 510 attys with vodka drawing in and flushing out repeatedly. So save those little seals if nothing else.

I also like the CoolCarts from V4L but have not tried the WOW cartos yet... . Since you already have the 808 in hand you may as well experiment to see if you like it with different cartos before you give up on it. The cartos do make a big difference. I have an extra unused Vapor9 turbo that I can send you just PM me... will make it by the weekend since you live an hour from me ( I am in charlottesville).

To the haters, this thread is not for you. The OP asked about a problem w/ a KR8. She already has an eGo, so the "get an eGo" mentality is not helping here. Please just post helpfull info for KR8s. TY from a fellow ECFer.

To the OP, as others have said it might be flooded. Blow into a towel from the threaded end untill it blows clear. I use a DSE901 flat tip cart w/ 3mm of the skirt cut off w/ scissors as a mouthpiece. If you have one on the carto when you blow it out, the excess ends up in the cart and not the towel. I have tried the spin technique, I don't think much of it honestly. Breath pressure provides alot more force than centrifugal motion, and it only effects the juice that is flooding the coil. Also, as others have said, make sure your connections are clean, and it could just be a bad carto. Try another. I seem to be getting one dead carto out of ten. This can happen.
