Funny I just thinned a batch down to 4% from 10%. 10% was super icky aka very perfumey. I mixed it at 60 VG/40 Pg I tasted a little just out of curiosity and I think this is gonna need to steep for a bit. The flavor was very minimal however. Are you using the Ry4 Type 1 ?

I think TPA only has one type. I will say that quick-steeping it seems to have eliminated the perfume smell and taste but this still needs to age a bit.

Well, I broke my own rule and filled a tank with the stuff after quick-steeping it, which as I mentioned got rid of the perfume taste and smell.

At 4% it's a little too strong and a little too sweet for my taste - this 30ml bottle I made is crying out for a drop of TA. We'll see ;)

edit: Added enough unflavored 24mg to cut the flavor to 3.5% and added 0.25% TE (also from TPA) and I'm actually getting somewhere with this. Now I'm gonna leave it alone for awhile - but I was kinda impressed that quick-steeping in hot water got rid of the perfume.

Hi there wizard. If it's the normal TPA RY4 Type, others have said that it does have a perfumy taste. smell to it. I recently got the TPA RY4 Type Double after reading a thread which talked about how the Double version eliminates that perfumy quality. Made a mix, quick steeped, and let it sit for half a week, and it was delightfully sweet with a mild tobacco finish, and not an odd flavor in there at any stage. The Double might be worth a try if you're still searching for a suitable RY4 flavoring. Just my :2c:.
