Glad I found this forum, there is lots of great info Ive been searching already but bare with me as this is still my first post :D

Im 31 yrs old, 5' 11 , 200 pounds been smoking for about 12 years, at about 1 pack per day, ( usually Marb Mediums ) And am sick of the sore throats, being winded after the smallest things, and the risks that come with it, and being I have Hi Blood Pressure and alot of stress . it doesnt make it any better on the health side :( and thats why I cant wait to try this!

Coming into this forum as a newb, and someone who is only going to mention the "mainstream" big names, cuz thats what ive seen the most of , just go easy on me lol

The 2 I "WAS" going to look at buying before I saw this forum was Green smoke, and "The Safe Cig" .. Now I dont know how good those are, but after seeing what alot of you are talking about in here, I have alot to learn, between the e cigs, the 5V e cigs, atomizers , cartomizers ( sp? ) etc etc ..
Obviously we all want the same thing, alot of vapor and a "feel " of a hit.. So please help me out everyone, and maybe point me in a general direction !! Thanks again

Honestly after starting off i would skip the ecig that looks just like a real cig. Performance is great at first, then after half an hour it dwindles on all models.

Go for an eGo, not really that big just a bit bigger than a cig but has a nice small size for the performance, puresmoker.com has one that comes with a regular atomizer and a low resistance atomizer. regular makes for a cooler vapor compared to a warmer vapor from the low resistance. You will get two batteries that one will probably last you all day maybe dying out during the evening/nighttime.

Grab some sample ejuice seperately at different strengths of nicotine (12mg - 24mg) to use to refill your own cartridges.

Hi, welcome to the board!

I'm brand new too, about a week ahead of you, and I just got my first ecig today.

The bottom line is, the pre-filled Premium E Cigs I got were terrible. To quote SJ, they taste like sock, with a little flavor mixed in.

Apparently the pre-filled, automatic ones are caca. I shouldn't have wasted my money on them.

I'm a 2PAD menthol smoker and 16mg is like smoking air.

I'm about to place an order for a 510 (despite tons of advice about short battery life) because it's the highest rated, most loved ecig of all time. And, its a good place for us noobs to start.

I really didn't want to "drip" or deal with atomizers and all that other stuff, I just wanted a two-piece, screw it together and smoke it kind of deal. But so far, they taste terrible, and hit terrible. So I gotta jump in with both feet and order some juices to go with my 510.

I did also order Eluma ecigs, which should arrive tomorrow. Another 2piece model, no dripping. If they suck eggs as bad as the Premiums, I'm gonna go all out and get the 510 and some juices.

So, you could take my advice, and skip the caca imitators and go straight to the 510 or eGo, with some quality juices, or try your way up to it.

Either way, congrats on the first step! It's more exciting than Christmas isn't it :)

510. Disposable cartomizers. marl 24 to start, and when your taste buds grow back and you taste how nasty tobacco is, lower mg coffee or ry4 or whatever suits you. Maybe get a sampler pack of juice. Also don't put too much stock in brand names. A 32 dollar 510 kit from boge and a 69 dollar 510 kit from an undisclosed vendor are the same thing, with the exception to the box it comes in. Check out madvapes.com they tend to list more useful info on their products than others (specifics on manufacturers, ingredients, and the like) Just my 2 cents.

Thanks again everyone for the quick replies!!

As for the first site suggested by Stage and Jo, is the kit you were talking about $65 with 2 black e cigs? Sorry , cant post links quite yet

And what is going to be the difference between this kit and a Safe smoke, or green smoke?
That's the one with the pcc. Joye 510 with PCC I found the pcc to be unpredictable and got frustrated with it so I got the ego then.

Thanks again everyone.. the 510 is gonna be my first choice so far, but just which one? there are a few from cignot, and madvapes ..
I would go with cignot. (I did) Genuine Joye. Madvapes is a Boge and you don't get to choose your batteries. Don't get me wrong I like madvapes But not for a 510 kit. free shipping with cignot as well. not sure about madvapes.

As long as it says Genuine Joye 510 its going to be the same.. I would recommend cignot.com

The pcc is great and works as a portable charger for the mini batteries, they only last about an hour. but the brass contact inside gets corroded quick, you will have to q-tip clean it every few days. other than that charges them great for the day.

Compared to the Greencig or other one, those are more advertised products. they are more expensive and might not perform to what you will get from a 510 or kr808.

Aslo most models are comparetively a 3.7volt experience. 5v-6v is a high volt mod requiring larger batteries. They produce a stronger/hotter reckless vapping experience :D i can't wait to order one. I wouldn't recomend jumping straight into them at first, they are usually more expensive and wouldn't want you to waste your money if it doesn't work out for you.

Yea I THINK i know what one I want to start with. And its either going to be the wicked tornado / Joye eGo, The Videos and review praise them as a "510 on steroids"
:p

Good choice, they reg 510 is great to start off with for like the first week cause it looks about the same size as a real cig. Only after the novelty of the ecig wears off and you start to wish that you had that sustained performance you will want the ego/tornado, no pcc and battery will last your work day, if not it has another battery to get you throughout the rest. Most last 8-10 hours, heavy vapers it lasts about 4-6. compared to 30mins-1hr for the reg.

I really enjoyed this review. it really shows the eGo the way it should be. A sustained great 3.7 volt experience.

first off, congratulations on wanting to make the transition over to e-cigs! i'm a noobie but was able to quit analogs as soon as i got my e-cig! =D it's a great feeling. personally, i got the joye 510 because it seems to be one of the most popular ones out right now. i love my joye 510 and would totally recommend it.

i'm vaping 26 mg nic right now which i think is a tad too much for me (i use to smoke half a pack of marlboro lights 100s & have been a smoker for 10 years) so i ordered some 18 mg nic which are flavored and hoping those work out.

definitely look up some research on here because the info here is completely invaluable.

a few tip if you want it to "feel" more similar to smoking a traditional cigarette which i've learned over the past couple of days:
- for a good throat hit, direct lung inhale don't mouth inhale. when i use to smoke cigarettes i would mouth inhale since it was so harsh, vaping feels much milder and smoother so to get that throat hit i crave sometimes i direct lung inhale and i get that satisfactory feeling of hitting a cigarette.

like i said, i'm fairly new but the throat hit was the only thing that i felt was missing and taking the experience away from feeling like a real cigarette and direct lung inhaling has helped tremendously with that. good luck and i hope you find the perfect e-cig for yourself! :D

sorry i can't help you with what the difference between a 5v or 510 kit is, but i'm more than satisfied with my 510 kit. i got the kit that included the PCC and am glad i did. one 510 battery lasts me about a day and that PCC helps me last the whole day with my two batteries that came with the kit.
