Hi this is my first post here so excuse the noobness.
I just got my kgo 2 days ago and haven't had a real smoke since. I'm wondering what some good carto choices would be for it?
Its a little overwhelming, the different brands, resistances, duel coil, single coil ect.
I have a few smoketec 2.5 ohms and there ok, well to me at least as I have nothing else to compare too.
I'm not interested in anything that could leak easy because I'm in construction and its going to get banged around, dropped ect.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi, and welcome to the ECF!

The biggest thing that I have learned about cartos, is to stay away from no-name cheapies. I'd recommend Boge or Smoktech, and many seem to like Kangers. I haven't tried Kanger yet.

I like Boge cartos. They seem the most consistent standard cartos. SmokTech has many offerings. I do like their dual-coil cartos, and many love their eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizers (haven't tried those.)

With a KGO, you can try LR (low-resistance) cartos like the SmokTech 1.5 ohm dual coil. I like Boge 2.0 ohms single coils better, myself.

2.6-3 ohms will give pretty standard performance. If you like more/warmer vapor, you can try lower resistance cartos. Anything lower than 2 ohms on a 3.7v device is kind of overkill, in my opinion, but many seem to need that...

The fancier cartos like CE2s aren't very rugged, so I guess I wouldn't recommend those. joyetech eGo Mega cartomizers are one my favorite out-and-about cartomizers. They hold a fair bit of liquid, and perform well. They need a syringe to fill, though.

What is the best mix of PG/VG ratio for the Boge and Smoktek cartos? 20/80? 70/30? 50/50?

These are not pre-filled so as with any filler-type carto, while any ratio will work, the thinner (80PG/20VG) will wick more easily than a thicker (say, 60PG/40VG) mix. Personally these are about the only two cartos I use on my 3.7 volt PV, and I mix my juice fairly thick. No problem as long as I'm careful to be sure the carto is properly filled, & keep it topped off. Also while sitting around my cave chain-vaping I use a dripping atty instead of a carto, so there's no chance I'll vape the coil dry faster than the juice around it can be replenished. (With dripping, sure it's more trouble but it tastes so much better, and I figure what the heck? I'm just sitting here anyhow, might as well drip! :) ) With thick juice just be aware of it & notice if flavor or vapor slacks off or if you start to get a burnt taste. If so, give that carto a good topping off & a little time, & maybe vape another one for awhile.

Best of luck & enjoy the vapor! :toast:

I still enjoy the 1.5ohm and 1.25 ohm clearomizers on my KgO.

I know you "void the warranty" if you use a 1.25ohm dual coil on it. But that warranty is only for 30 days either way.

But the warm and strong tasting vapor from the 1.25ohm DC , is outstanding in my opinion.
Even Brent from Hoosiers uses them.

They last quite a while as well, if you keep them wet.

Good Luck and Peace.

I use the Smoktek 1.7ohm cartos on my kgo.. I also use the Ego Mega Dual Coil Cartos.. those things are huge! They hold a ton of juice and would surely last you all day. My juices are 50/50 or 70/30 mix and I have no trouble with wicking. You might also like a clearomizer.. it's like a small tank,, no filler, just the wick. They hold almost 2mls of juice. So many choices out there!

I dont have a kGo, but I do use an E-Power, which is very similar to the kGo but uses non-proprietary batteries, and the Ressurectors are the only cartos I use. The Boges are good too, but I like the Ressurectors more. The only thing I dont like about the Boges is that they only hold about 1ml of juice. The Ressurectors hold about 2ml of juice, so you can refill a lot less often. The Ressurectors are designed for 3.7V PVs, like the E-power and kGo, and they work awesome on both. Ive tried a bunch of different dual coils, but personally I think dual coils suck at lower voltages. I think the Ressurectors and the Boges both perform better than any dual coil on a kGo or E-Power. I would def try the Ressurectors bc I think youll really like them.

And if you ever want to go even longer between refills, the Smoktech 3.5ml tank is perfect for a kGo or E-Power. They are cheap and work very well, plus they come with a pre-punched DC carto and a drip tip which makes them an even better deal. There also is a larger 6ml Smoktech tank, but personally I think the bigger tanks look kinda awkward on an E-Power/kGo sized PV, and they make the PV top-heavy. The 3.5ml tank is perfect though and its about the same diameter as the battery tube, so they look nice and dont make the PV top-heavy. Thye Smoktech tanks are dual coil tanks, but you dont necessarily have to use a dual coil. Like I said before, I think dual coils suck at lower voltages so I didnt even use the DC carto that comes with the tank. Instead I use the Ressurectors in the tank and they work a LOT better. They are single coil, but since their XL cartos, they are the same size as a DC carto and they fit perfectly in the Smoktech tanks. CCV sells the tanks in a variety of colors and you can get the regular one with black endcaps or one with polished chrome endcaps. CCV also sells pre-punched Ressurectors for the Smoktech tanks and they have the metal base on them like the DC carto that comes with the tank. You dont have to use a carto that has the metal base, but they are nice bc they stop the tank from being able to slide down, and the base doesnt allow the carto to slide when you pull the drip tip off.
Heres what they look like: E-Powers.jpgphoto3.jpg
The left one and the second picture are the regular 3.5ml tank, and the right one is the 3.5ml tank with polished chrome endcaps. As you can see they dont make the PV much bigger, and I like the 3.5ml tanks bc their big enough that I can fill them in the morning and be good all day, yet their still small enough that I can easily carry my E-Power in my pocket with the tank on it. If you do get the Ressurectors and like them, I would def consider getting a 3.5ml tank also.
Between the great battery life of an E-Power or kGo, and a 3.5ml tank, youll be able to vape most of the day, if not the whole day without needing a refill.
I fill my tanks in the morning and also pop a fresh battery in my E-Power, and I can easily vape all day at work completely maintanence free

Rob, you're awesome! I've learned SO much from you!! I have a kgo and I really love it. I've been using the 1.7ohm dc (I think!) cartos and the EMDCCs. Can't decide which I like better. I also just got one of those clearos, and it's ok, except the wicks are in the top of the tank so I have to tip it when the liquid gets short. Not a huge deal, but I keep thinking I need to put my big girl panties on and just try a tank! I'm going to take your advice and try one of the smoktek's. Maybe some day I'll graduate to one of those pretty phiniac tanks... :)
