Good coil wire that lasts?

Another question...if its not breaking, but the vapor and flavor has deteriorated...what juice are you using? I saw the pg/vg ration and nic strength, but what flavor and how sweet?

I am using a juice called "the streak" from vapewild.

Here is the description...

We don’t judge those who have peeled off their layers to reveal all their glorious skin to go on a wild streak in the middle of the day or night. No, that’s not what we do here. We pay homage to those wild and fearless folks who aren’t afraid to bare it all! The Streak is all about layers: stacks of warm buttery waffles, juicy strawberries and an added layer of whipped cream to round out this most excellent breakfast flavor. Plus, it’s so good, you may just want to shed your gear and streak through the house blowing dank clouds with this strawberry waffle vape juice. Again, we don’t judge.

Primary Flavors: Strawberry, Waffle, cream

Lot of flavoring. Going to gunk up coils pronto....

I will post a Pic later today
Yeah that would be helpful, it smells like there's a major mistake in there somewhere.
It should fire just fine at about 25W without any burned taste and last for several months.

I can basically guarantee you it's not the wire.

This makes no sense at all to me. A coil of that description should last months. Especially at that wattage. There’s got to be something odd going on. Are you constantly firing the coil till it turns orange? How much wick are you using? What do you define as “lasting”? Are you burning through the actual coil or does it just get dirty?

I would guess I am constantly firing until it turns orange. Average drag is probably 6-8 seconds. Here is a Pic of how much wick I'm using. As I mentioned, the wick seems to always be in good condition, the coil is just burnt looking and tastes burnt.

What is a mtl device?

Yes, slow long drag.

I just started building my own coils about 2 months ago.

Could are spaced, not right against each other.
Could you post an image of the coil mounted on the deck, wicked and ready to go?
A photo of a "burnt" coil prior to replacing may also provide additional insight.
Watch a few videos on the Utube about the zeus single coil. Mimic the draw speed and strength of the actors.

TL;DR
Suck harder and faster. The zeus needs more airflow to perform correctly.

Cheers

That’s the correct amount of wick. One down.
You say the wire “tastes” burnt but the wick is not burnt. This is not making sense to me. The only thing I can think of is the coil is behaving normally and it’s a cleaning and conceptual issue.
Are you dry burning your coil and replacing the wick? Or just replacing everything?

First you have too much power if you are getting a burned taste. What is the ejuice you are using? If it is dark in color it will tend to burn so lower the power wattage. Coils will start to turn color when used(darken) they will not stay that pristine looking while in use. Most will clean up to look almost pristine again if you are not burning the heck out of it.

Why is your draw time so long? Are you not getting a good draw on it? Describe why. Is the air not enough? Is it lacking in strength? Maybe you need a different ohm using another coil? Do you just keep using the same burned coil? Replace it.

It's nice that you want to help but did you read what was written? They're using 12-13W on a 24g wire. Too much power most certainly isn't the reason. That thing is notoriously underpowered.
Why is your draw time so long?
Because of the 12-13W on 24g wire ;)

Then he keeps reusing the same burned coil again and again without proper cleaning. You want to help him so much? Then educate him instead of taking me to task.

All coils as you use them will turn darker during use. I like using SS or Ni80 mostly. SS tends to darken quicker and change color faster than most metals but that's just the properties it has. And I also vape really, really sweet juices. Downside to that is that I have to clean every other day. Upside is the wonderful tasting clouds. I use a wire brush and dry burn for complex builds like aliens or claptons. I do the dry burning under a water facet for regular round coils; macros or micro coils. Juices with little to no sweetner like Naked100, I won't have to rewick but once a week maybe two. The only time I change out a build completely like you're doing is if; coil is too gunky even after a cleaning, the coil is starting to look brittle/loose it's stiffness, it's been over a month or two, or I'm just tired of that particular build and want a fresh one in. Metals will last. Just might need a cleaning depending on your style of vaping and how sweet your juices are. Apologies for making you read all this. You should upload some photos of your burned out coil so we could help you out more and see what you mean by burned out.

Coils gunk up but they do not 'burn out', that makes no sense as they are made of metal.

A clearer description of what you are experiencing and some pictures will go a long way in terms of us helping you.
I will post pics of the burnt coil as well as one I get a new one set up in place.

Replacing everything. Coil and wick. I have never cleaned anything. Just replace it all. Will be posting pics of "burnt" coil as well as new coil and wick set up in the base
